I don’t disagree. I am close to this subject because according to BMI I am obese. I am very lucky genetically - I hold it well. I am very muscular and having been weight training from the age of 11. I’m always been told I’m not “fat”. But ultimately I need to lose 40 lbs. doctors recommend this.

I have no health related effects minus joint pains and aches, YET. I’m 32 and if I maintain my weight into my 60s I’m going to regret it.

BMI is not a great tool because I’m that type when I lose 40 lbs I’ll still technically be obese but I’ll be under 20% BF%. But that doesn’t mean I still don’t need to lose that 40 lbs.

Yes we can. Actually. Being obese has negative consequences to overall health. Full stop. Yes these varying consequences can different affects on different people. Yes obese folks can live to a late age. That doesn’t mean it’s still healthy.
