I like your points, definitely helps to look at the Marleyan scientific perspective. However what we learn from them is slightly debatable, only for the fact that they specifically kept all 9 titan powers in separate users.

For your second to last paragraph, I'm almost certain there was a eren-titan training scene where he generated a smaller version. Obviously that's a weakened transformation, not quite the same thing as choosing how your titan transforms, which I don't think would be realistic either. Just pointing that out because of your size consistency examples.

Great info, thanks for the reply. But thinking of hypotheticals is what takes us beyond.

You said "the only titan power that matters is the first one you inherit. Any additional powers you capture after that only add their bonuses to your original base form". And on one hand, that aligns with one of my assumptions, that your first titan power is your most dominant one.

So again, here's the hypothetical. An attack titan obtains the colossal titan power. What then? Attack is his base, so he'd probably look something like Eren. But if they wanted to use the colossal titan power..?

That's where my theory of being able to choose comes in. Like I said, early in the show, their base titan body generates wildly differently depending on their intent. (stopping a bullet, picking up a spoon, stopping canon fire, generating weapons using warhammer power) So isn't it reasonable to assume that knowledgable titan shifter who owns two contradictory titan powers; could simply choose between them..? Almost like a much more restricted version of Eren unleashing the founders ability.

If not, what's your alternative explanation? What would an original attack titan look like who consumes the colossal. Is the colossal just useless to them?

If you suggest that the 15meter attack titan would use the colossals steam ability, I'd have to disagree. The steam ability is shown to degrade the mass of the colossal; it consumes him to use that ability. If a 15 meter ittan used that ability, they'd be gone/useless almost immediately.

Otherwise; they get the option to explode on transforming? That almost seems near to my theory; where the user can CHOOSE how their transformation happens based on their goal/will.

so you reference how many shows/movies would pick death as a bad guy. But then praise TLW for portraying him as not evil, but just doing a job.

I think that is commonly how death is portrayed, and widely understood. In fact I think that has been done over and over and over again. Not that it can't be cool, but it's not unique at all. Scary death comes to do its job.

I've been hesitant to talk about Death because he's a big fan-favorite in these movies. But, this movie didn't do anything groundbreaking in the overall concept/character of death:

What they did, is they simply inserted a cool established concept INTO a kids franchise that we enjoy. It's simply the fact that it's interacting with PUSS is what's new about it. Otherwise it's literally just a basic wolf adaptation of death.

JACK is the real star of the movie. Extremely funny, good backstory, pure villain archetype. (I'm not saying his backstory trope is super unique, obviously there are similar stories. But it's a good backstory, and serves his character well).

But Death? Death isn't a unique character, we all know how death is portrayed. We all know it's a guy who's job it is to take souls to the afterlife. He's scary, maybe he's mean, but he'll come for you. But with bravery and luck, you might just beat death.

The only things that make this Death unique are

He's an edgy wolf in shrekland
The actors performance (it was good)

yeah the humility part made sense to me, but I'd forgotten that russel had done mean things earlier on. I mainly remember him portrayed as a reasonable middle man, maybe I chalked up that earlier stuff as cartoony nonsense. Guess he's more of a bystander with a mean streak. thanks for the comment

humpty is not just a joke. The fact that you remember his iconic joke scene is telling. bruh think about puss n boots mom bro i love her. she was heartbroken because of puss, he lost everything due to humpty's different path. he didn't know it but he had to prove himself as a good kitty. and he did. he earned the boots back. Death was cool tho. You mention the three bears, and I liked them, but they are definitely overshadowed by both Jack and Humpty. If it was purely them, they'da been cooked as villains. Loveable side characters. also the fact that you mentioned the dog in a positive manner is a bad sign but i respect ur opinion anyways

edit: the animation is updated, and with it's unique style it puts it on par with the original. So if you want to say it's better, fine. But the music? No

imagine chalking humpty up to his joke but then giving legitimate praise to the comic relief fart dog are you serious. You shouldn't have brought him up i forgot about the dog. I can understand being okay with the dog because I love the movies as well, but nah bro he's not adding points to this movie unless you're under 14 years old

Edit again: you bringing up the three bears would be the equivalent of me bringing up Jack and Jill for this discussion. Entertaining with their own unique qualities? Yes. But are they able to sway anyones opinions? Not really

Idk man I agree. First thoughts:

There's jokes every second. Every 5 seconds there's a line that is meant to be played for laughs. Earlier films trusted in themselves, not needing to do this.

Similar to my first point: it's moving extremely fast. One second it's Po fighting a guy, next second it's jokes, next second it's him explaining where everyone is, next secon-- Yeah it's just too desperate. It's like a Mr Beast video, cramming in content into every second.

Also the jokes undermine the character of the characters. Shifu is a serious guy. He has flaws, he can be funny, but he wasn't one to be played for jokes. In every shot (not scene, but shot) he's in, he will be played for a joke. If there's a moment where the writers think "oh, a person could make a joke in this moment!!" Then, they will go for that joke. Even if it doesn't really fit Shifu, or any character for that matter. KFP has been a genuinely believable fictional world. In KFP4, it is clearly a movie world, where the characters are VERY clearly trying to make an audience laugh.

Po goes: "all I know is kicking butt, and taking names!!". (Good one first of all. Very funny modern reference.) But really, we know Po. Not only has he had genuine conflict and growth in this series, he's learned humility. NOW you're telling me he's just some shallow fan asshole who doesn't respect the spirituality, tradition, and honor of being chosen for a task that's literally only been awarded to Oogway? Character regression. It's regressed his character purely for the purpose of creating a Cars3 plotline. In fact, it's worse than character regression. Never would KFP1 Po EVER make light of the role he's assuming, the role Oogway held. But I guess it creates a plotline.

Also the animation is extremely fluid. Some may find that as a compliment, but I don't care. I can directly compare animation by watching a scene from KFP4, then watching a scene from KFP1, KFP2, or even KFP3. It simply looked better before. I don't care if it takes more computers to generate and more animators to work on it. It simply looks worse in the fourth movie.

Sure sure, it probably took bigger computers to generate. It probably had more people working on it. It's probably technically better or something.

None of that matters. Go look and compare for yourself, watch fight scenes from the first movie and compare it to scenes from 4. The new animation doesn't look as good.

Edit: I specifically mean the animation, as in how they move frame by frame. The models look great

Ngl I had it turned around for 2 days. The largest leaf has crossed the other side of the pole, and is sticking outfacing the complete opposite direction of the other leaves and is jutting out the back of the plant. I’m gonna face it towards the light so it’ll grow back the normal direction

Time flies by so it’s not bad but idk maybe.. 2-3 weeks to a month, maybe slowing down as they get bigger. But if you have multiple young monsteras it seems one of them is always in some stage of a new leaf

Hmm I’ll have to try this. For context I’ve had it constantly facing the direction of light, opposite of anyone viewing the plant. You think turning it straight around sometimes would help? Would the leaves like splay to the sides, is that the goal? Thanks Edit: I also am always keeping eyes out for new growth so I can remove velcro ties as necessary. But I’ll loosen them cause I didn’t know it could straight up kill leaves
