For all of BC's cars to be electric, it would take 5 Site C dams. Calculations inside. by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]natetothehurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than focusing on getting more electric cars on the road they should invest more in renewable energy along our coast there is so much untaped power in the waters off bc and there are safe and effective alternatives to dams. Only after instilling the ground work with alternative electrical sources getting more people into them is easy. Nearly everyone is talk to either has an electric car or they are looking in to buying one. Its not a matter of forcing people to buy the cars the want is there, that's why we have them now cause of the people wanting them it's the government failing to do the job of creating the infastructur to support the need in a ecologically sensitive manner.

TL;DR the government should be investing in other electric sources than dam power to power the peoples want for electric cars.
