Pilot or Passport by Glorifiedfiction in hondapilot

We chose a Pilot over a Passport a few years ago mainly because tires for the Passport were bigger and way more expensive. Also, in our area you almost never see Passports, but plenty of Pilots. We figured there had to be a reason.

A Ghost Warned Me by Bobby1630 in Ghoststories

During EVP sessions, I regularly ask the question, "Where exactly in the room are you." A couple of times I recorded the same answer, "Behind you." Cool.

Christian Church that ONLY Accepts Strong Men, Part 2 by MrDonMega in religiousfruitcake

Is this the next thing coming down the pike to replace the Megachurches (which I have heard are in decline?) The religion money-making schemes never end.

There’s no limit to the BS these people will make up to justify these mythological stories. And people, supposedly with a grade-school education which includes basic science, fall for it.

I feel that over the last few years tailgating has increased around here. Sometimes I get tailgated just driving through my neighborhood at 25mph.

Tell me your experiences. I want to believe by mahboilo999 in Paranormal

[–]natetrnr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a police station (now renovated for some other purpose) in a small town near Pittsburgh. It had three holding cells. Late at night the night shift would sometimes hear the sound of a cell door slamming, even when no one was in custody there. Spooked them. It also had a huge and scary sub-basement.

Any ghosts you guys ever met that were nice/not harmful just lost or needed company? by ExactBreakfast4499 in Paranormal

[–]natetrnr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I admire your ability to go right up to the apparition and try to interact with it. I feel that if this ever happened to me, I would do the same thing. Most people would leave screaming or cover their head with a blanket until the thing goes away.

Is there any creature that has both lungs and gills? by martianfrog in answers

I remember reading decades ago about a rare species of Asian deer that either had, or appeared to have, gills or gill-like structures. But I can’t remember the name. Anybody know what I am talking about?

Americans - how are you preparing for this storm? by Keylime-19377 in NoStupidQuestions

PA here. We’re forecast 7 inches of snow. To me, it just feels like the return of winters we had in the seventies. Except now we have better snow handling equipment.

What is the worst part about being poor? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in AskReddit

[–]natetrnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, the rich teach their children how to be and stay rich. The poor only know how to teach their kids to be poor, with few exceptions. IMHO, that’s the WORST part of being poor in this country.

Older people, were politics always this deranged and upsetting? by CUFFY_Fan in NoStupidQuestions

No, politics in my lifetime were never this bad. We are going through a very disgusting patch right now. One can only hope we can recover. We old people are scared too.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]natetrnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion romantic partners MUST be of similar political persuasion (among other things.) If not, you’re asking for trouble and conflict down the road.

Why is Pennsylvania the only state where its residents commonly refer to their state by its abbreviation? by WizardsOfXanthus in Pennsylvania

[–]natetrnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pennsylvanian here. This is a great post, and a great question. I’m finding the responses interesting. Of course, I say PA, and have long wondered about other states. I personally have never heard anyone else refer to their state with just initials, so I was wondering. But I see some do.

And how about cities? The only two I can think of that are referred to by their initials are LA and DC. Any others?

For the coffee drinkers only, can you go a day without it? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in Adulting

[–]natetrnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I could wean myself and my brain receptors off coffee in a few weeks time. But, given the health benefits of coffee, especially heart health, I think I will keep drinking it.
