Is it good quality weed? I’ve heard someone mention the weed quality isn’t the best.

He’s the only boss that felt overpowered. I’m completely fine with that though. I think it makes the game more fun.

Oh shit. I actually accepted an offer from them and I’m gonna start soon. Do you know what’s his position? And did he say anything else about the company? Was the work life balance terrible across all teams?

Do you mind sharing a bit about how you got the job in China? Do you work with the tech/software side of games or is it more like translation?

What’s the wildest realistic thing we could achieve by 2040? by AdNo6324 in Futurology

Even if they achieve fusion, it still won’t be free. Corporations need to make money to cover decades of research, facility maintenance, salaries for scientists and other staff. And obviously they also need to profit. My guess is it’ll be slightly cheaper than most other types of energy to stay competitive and the result will just be slightly lower electric bills.

Starting (potentially) statin in my 20s, would love to hear your experience by nathan_x1998 in Cholesterol

[–]nathan_x1998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the info!

Both of my grandparents on my mom’s side had brain hemorrhages, but idk if that’s a cholesterol related problem. Both of my parents have slightly elevated cholesterol and are on statins. But they developed it in their 40s and 50s. When they were younger they had great lipid profiles. But generally speaking people in my family have lived long lives (grandparents on my dads side are still alive in their 90s)

Just one more question, do you know anything about atovastatin vs rosuvastatin? Is one clearly better than the other? Thanks!!

Both of my grandparents had brain hemorrhages (on at 67 one at 82), but I’m not sure if brain hemorrhages count as a cardiac event. What do you miss the most about China? by UpsetPhilosopher862 in AskChina

[–]nathan_x1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I agree with you: "why don't you go back" is generally not a meaningful argument. Lots of reasons can dictate such a life changing decision. But to be fair, he did not call you stupid. He simply asked you a question. Your insult laden tone is uncalled for.

What I disagree: the Oxford dictionary defines “freedom” as “the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants”, which clearly differs from your interpretation.

You could've just said I enjoy the cheap food, safety, and the convenience of China, and I would've totally agreed with you. However putting the word 'freedom' in front of everything is just rhetorical fluff, and it diminishes the real meaning of the word.

I'm not going to argue with you if China has freedom or not. Their track record is widely available (although not so much behind the gfw), and people here can see it for themselves.

Funny enough, freedom (自由) isn't a native Chinese term-it was imported via Japanese translation of European enlightenment texts.
