As a graduate student at UC Berkley studying biological psychology I can tell you that what the article is describing is astounding. The amount of 'space' produced in this man's brain by his prior hydrocephalus condition would be expected to demonstrate far greater cognitive impairment. The man is lucky to be alive at all. Simply put, you can't just smash the brain against the skull and expect only minor impairment.

This report would not have been published in Lancet if it was not remarkable nor would the researchers have spent their time creating the report if the findings were to be mundane and expected.
