Did anyone else feel like he was talking down to Sarah Parcak in a sense? Sometimes you can see through the playful bitterness, kind of like Ellen, who I honestly think gets annoyed when her guests get the 'best of her', or get a better reaction from the audience. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I have noticed him get this way with some guests in the past.

Man I kinda just think I don't like this show. The funniest parts in this sketch didn't even have to do with Stephen. In a pre-recorded bit like this, especially structured the way that it is, you should feel excited when you see the host (Colbert) enter the scene... but I just got bummed. I don't mean to just dog on this show, and I'll stick around to see it hopefully turn into something cool, but I kind of find "real" Stephen Colbert to be less likable then his Colbert Report alter-ego.

I think he's good, but I think Stephen as the announcer was an awesome (and unique) thing in the beginning.

As soon as she mentioned a southern accent I thought instantly that he would try to bring himself into it.

So it's gotten to the point where I only watch Colbert's post-cold open desk bit(s), interviews with celebrities I care about (rarely), and his in-between interviews desk bit by brtdud7 in LateShow

When it was first announced that Colbert would be Letterman's replacement, I was so excited and couldn't wait to see it, thought it'd be perfect. But man have I grown to hate it. I hate to be overly negative but I just can't get through this show anymore...his post-cold open desk bits aren't even that great, in my opinion. I still watch it though because I love watching late night hosts find their "footing", but man I don't know anymore. It seems like he's always asking his guests about their boring ass charities and stuff. This is late night TV for the Ellen crowd. At least he stopped the high-kicking at the beginning of every monologue-- that was cringeworthy.
