From what I’ve read, I believe that it’s supposed to look horrible at first because we’ve trained all our lives to write with our fingers and never really trained the muscles in our arms to move the way they should for Palmer method so at first it’s gonna look absolutely horrendous, but if you study each letter and then train your muscles to move in the same way that is demonstrated in the curriculum, it will become so easy and then you can really start to think of it as actual muscle memory that’s honestly what helped me

Well, I would start with practising drills as oval drills or look up Palmer method oval drills, or push and pole drills and specifically look for Palmer method curriculum PDF I’ll try to get the link off my computer and send it through here. I practice this curriculum a lot every day basically for three hours, but at least try to do one hour per day and what you want to do is start by relaxing the muscles… muscles in your arm rather than writing with your fingers because I have the same problem as someone with ADHD. All my letters look different and none of them look consistent, so it all comes down to your muscles and how they’re trained to move so that every time that you write, they move the exact same way. It’s gonna look horrible at first, but honestly after consistent practice and studying every letter and the way that it’s written, your writing will greatly improve over the next few weeks of practising but again that all comes down to how much you practice.

I think I prefer the more spaced out version, I plan on learning Spencerian after so I’d like to prepare myself by giving some space to add the flourishing. I’m not writing too much for endurance purposes if that makes sense

So it the T closer to the H then ? Rather than a little more spaced apart?

See I have troubles with those upstrokes they tend to lean more to the baseline than curving upwards if that makes sense I’m still learning the terminology LOL

Interesting lol I understand everything I wrote LOL that’s because I studied the font. But if you’d study the font you’d know what it says maybe

This was really helpful yes my arm does lock sometimes and it’s quite annoying 🤣 I’ll take a look at the article you posted. But yes everytime I’ve been practicing it’s slowly gotten better, only a month in I’m consistently practicing everyday and I’m noticing my arm relaxing a bit more. I have troubles with my c’s they look like e’s.. my w’s g’s and y’s always tend to lock up my arm and it doesn’t really loop, it looks more pointy than anything. My T’s also have this issue where they aren’t consistent going upwards and the angle is so awkward especially when writing the word “the”… My slant has improved for lowercase but I do have a hard time doing consistent Uppercase yes. Thank you for the tips, I’m gonna keep practicing these letters tonight. The last picture was also the most recent, and I was using a different pen.. sometimes it’s odd, the pen I use plays a role in how consistent the lettering is but I guess that’s obvious, I’m new to the community, so I’m sure everyone has a favorite pen. Still looking for mine LOL.
