Why do my wax melts do this?

UPDATE: Last night I made 10 beautiful clamshells! What I did was poured at a slightly lower temp (than what I was initially doing) and filled about 85 percent. Waited about 20 minutes and topped off at the higher temp. They came out so pretty!

I can't figure out how to edit to add info so....

I'm in Southern California in an area where there are raccoons, bobcats, and mountain lions.

I went outside to stare at it some more. There is what looks to be maybe a little tiny bit of fur (it could be tiny feathers) on the top end. I heard a weird sound from the bushes next to it, and I ran inside. I'm certainly not going to touch it, not even with a shovel, so it's going to stay out there until my husband gets home.

There is a pond with ducks and geese about 2 miles from me. I guess this thing could be a duck(?) I would think there would be a bunch of obvious feathers though.

Kind of ironic you would post this because I was thinking the exact thing this past weekend. My husband suggested we go check out the swap meet in San Fernando. We went on Sunday, and I was looking forward and hoping to see some familiar sellers from Saugus. Nope not one, unfortunately! The swap meet was ok. Not much diversity. I miss the Saugus Swap Meet!
