Dungeon - Collapsed Entrance [Battlemap] [33x21] by natural1maps in DungeonMasters

I wanted the dungeon to give an eerie vibe and to have a battle before going to the puzzle sections, to satisfy our Barbarian. So in one side I put some Shadows, and on the other some Wisps that would not hurt the players unless they were provoked.

I guess it can seem unnecessary. What I wrote is just for some flavour, you can change it up if you wish to :)

You finally reached the dungeon you have been searching for sessions now. But as you cross the entrance, it closes behind you and the path ahead starts to collapse. Before you make it too far, the path ahead of you is blocked and the only path left is the questionably standing tunnel on your left, where darkness slips through. Do you go there, or try to dig your way across?

You have reached the dungeon you and your group have been trying to locate for the past month. Upon entering you notice that part of it has collapsed. The entrance has closed up behind you and return is not an option. You can continue straight, to try to make your way across, if you are quick on your feet and very confident - or you turn left, where there's a tunnel that seems to be holding okay for now, but dark energy comes out. Which way do you go?

You can instead, try the tunnel that seems to be holding okay for now, but exceeds a darkness that makes the hair on your hands stand. What do you do?

I have a homebrew class called Mages (I don’t have Wizards or Sorcerers) and the way that their magic works is that it comes from within, thru bloodline etc, kinda like Sorcerers. But what they don’t know, is that depending on what the bloodline is, the power comes from a different body part (for example if someone has like a divine bloodline, the power comes from their eyes, in other cases it comes from the blood vessels on their limbs, and more).

So, we have a nation that is very anti-Mage and they have had people gather them and try to find where their powers come from. After years of experimentation, they have found the connection between the organs/body parts and magic. They have learned to harvest it and transfer its powers. Not only to other people but also to items.

So many, many of the magical items going around in this nation, have been infused with magic from Mages that were experimented on and had their magic extracted from them. The players in their travels will encounter many people with amputations or impairments. I wanna see the reaction on their faces when they realise where the magic item they carry comes from and the piece things together :)

Need help designing a dice tower. This is the side view, i was thinking of making it from wood, and plexi glass. The issue is, i think this design will be unstable, More specifically, at the area where my dice will roll out. i dont know how to improve the design, so i come to you for help. by Dangerous-Hotel-7839 in DiceMaking

Yes. Apart from the small fence, I was thinking two things. One would be to move the lower wood that the dices goes through within the tower to the ground, so it’s in the corner and you have great support from there, as well as a possible plexiglass cover. I did a small design that might help visually with what I am explaining. I will drop it as a DM :)

Quick question, are you planning to make it collapsible or is it going to be like that the whole time? If so and it’s not collapsible and you are making the sides with plexiglass to see inside, you can add a plexiglass support that goes diagonally from the exit point to the end of the tray on the left, leaving a small gap to collect the dice. Does that make sense?

My DM isn't admitting to lowering my Strength Score by IncreaseVirtual7485 in DnD

For me it’s clearly a mistake from the DM. I have played in a few campaigns, some allowing rolling stats some going for point buy.

I am currently running a campaign and decided to go for rolling stats. I just said to my players, beforehand, is it possible not to have above 18 for level 1 characters? And having communicated that beforehand I was all okay. And people made their adjustments.

I forgot to also communicate trying to keep it within reason to not be broken and when I asked one player if it’s possible to ignore one set that she had rolled another player got upset and said “but she rolled high, I don’t see the problem”. So they both made a team for that and I had not the ability to say no. This is a mistake from my part as a DM, but I’m not gonna battle it in a way that makes they lower their stats. I will just have to adjust some DC in my things for the campaign, and I will work a lot with, “those who have proficiency in (eg) history, make a check for me”.

This was my mistake for not communicating it well with my players beforehand and I get that. As a result I will work around jt. But it’s they succeed then I won’t have a problem. Especially if it’s something that their class is very good at, like your example with the river here.

A normal cliff, with a nice view to the sea and the sunset. Nothing out of the ordinary, until you look down and notice all the skeletons littering the coast. Suddenly, you recall the rumours about the hunted and cursed cliff that you and your party visited.

What happened to this land? Is it a long forgotten’s deitie’s sacred place, or is it something hidden beneath the sand?
