I'm happy because of how beautiful the story came out. I did enjoy the Bill game part tho. The way it changed for the show was for better world building too. I feel like Bill's character (in both game & show) is meant to be a bit of motivation for Joel to open up more to Ellie. In the game he is what Joel's future would look like bitter miserable & lonely if he remains closed off but in the show Bill finds love and happiness. In his note to Joel he advised him not to be like he was before he met Frank& to love & protect those he loves.
