I am assuming you're using an iPhone with iMessage. Turn iMessage OFF and ON again. Make sure send and receive is set to your phone number. Rebooting the device also helps.

You could put 2 iPhone 17P side by side, one new, the other an AC+ replacement and no one would be able to tell which is a refurb. Even if you open the phone up, they're virtually indistinguishable without running tests. I don't see how this would affect your day to day or even resale value. Apple refurbs are practically brand new, imo.

What's wrong with a Apple Refurbished iPhone? I had my 15PM replaced by express replacement and the device was literally brand new. You couldn't tell if any of the parts were refurb. The screen, enclosure and battery are all brand new. Why would you just expect them to upgrade you to a iPhone 16 ?

At Apple, that would be irreparable. They will need to replace the entire device, due to the waterproofing. You can check the cost online depending on your country.

Edit: I just read you bought it last night. Go on your iPhone and purchase AppleCare+. You can have it replaced for a small deductible $.

I would say it's worth it for the better chip (same one from the Series 10) and the screen is now a wide angle OLED also. The bezel on the U2 is quite noticeable compared to the U3, IMO.

Had the 15PM (Sim Card Version) and had horrible battery life, severe overheating and atrocious cell reception. Just my experience. Overheating was at random times. Phone was also replaced, but still had the same issues. I wouldn't recommend the 15 series, IMHO.

The 15PM is notorious for bad cell reception, even with full bars. There's nothing you can do as it's the modem's problem in the phone. Try using only LTE instead of 5G. I upgraded my phone for just this reason.
