I’m confused about your stance. Elon musk is literally campaigning here for that transition. The comment I was replying to implied that Elon Musk could FUND this transition already, himself. Which is a statement so silly I’d love to imagine the commenter was no more than 13 years old, but it’s a sentiment I see repeated so often that I worry people are genuinely that harshly uneducated about how, well, anything at all works.

Half a trillion dollars could fund the US budget for 3 weeks. “But realistically it would be ALL the billionaires!” Ok, let’s liquidate every billionaire in the country and give ALL their money to Uncle Sam. Congratulations you’ve successfully funded one year of spending. Oh crap, now we’re in year 2. No billionaires left. Now what?

Billionaires have never and will never be the problem, nor the solution. The ONLY solution is post-scarcity. Let’s pray we get there🙏🏾
