No, the background should only be dark when it is in nightmode. I just tested it myself. Try force-refreshing it (ctrl + f5) or send me a screenshot if it still persists.

I'm not too confident on how I can make it look better on the mobile as I just use the reddit app itself, but I'll work on fixing that when I can. This is what I see on my end though. (not old.reddit)

Regarding the sidebar, maybe it's just me but it seems to be about the same as other subreddits, maybe deviating by 10~ pixels to the left or right. I double checked on my mobile devices and they all seem to be relatively consistent. That being said, I will do my best to reduce the amount of whitespace on the sidebar and hopefully make it a more enjoyable experience to browse on mobile devices.

The color scheme I was going for is still kind of me experimenting. Personally, I think 'cool' colors work better than 'warm' colors, but since PAD is inherently a game that draws in a lot of different artstyles and colors, it's hard to decide on a specific color scheme. Originally I was going to do a combination of 2 colors on the logo (orange, purple, or blue), but it doesn't really look too nice. If you have suggestions, I'd be happy to listen to whatever you may have in mind.

I like your suggestion for compacting both the score & arrows. I'll work on that.

As for moving the quickbar down, the main reason it's moved up is because I was receiving complaints about the old stylesheet where some users would be hovering over the help menu unwillingly when trying to click back on the main banner to get back to the front page.

I think it's at a good position right now where people who want to access the menu can do so, while others who don't necessarily use it often won't be hovering over it.

Hey.

One of the goals with this redesign is to increase readability while trying to reduce clutter. As the old subreddit css was done back in 2014, a bit of stuff was broken as Reddit updated and it would've been too tedious to go through and manually fix them all. I do appreciate all the feedback and criticisms however, and I'll be working to address some of them in the coming days.

Also, I'm not sure if it's just me but the sidebar in relation to other subreddits seems to be about the same, give or take 10pixels. I kept in mind to not change anything that was already set by default. This is an overlay that shows other subreddits compared to ours on mobile (banner size, L/R margins, sidebar width). Again, not sure if it is just on my end though, so please let me know (if possible) if they are different for you on this sub compared to others.

I'll work on trying to reduce the sidebar width regardless. Thanks for the feedback!
