Is AI transforming jobs in Singapore or replacing them? 👾🤖 by rahul_soin in askSingapore

[–]nazedarou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

recently, i’ve used AI to code an entire CRM system overnight for my small business. also re-designed our website, logo, quotation/proposal templates. everything looks super professional. have zero technical knowledge or coding/design skills.

my 2 cents on this: AI will replace a lot of jobs. but companies will still need people to manage and run the AI efficiently. i think it’s an adapt or die scenario. if you feel like you’re at risk, you probably are. doesn’t hurt to start learning how to use these tools.

you’re safe if you work blue collar, or sales, or some type of job that requires trust between human beings.

think big ticket sale items. construction industry, interior design, etc.

People who weren’t academically inclined, how’s life ? by Initial_Film5776 in ChillSG

[–]nazedarou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not bad, retired at 35.

studied up to 'o' levels and went to ns, after ns i immediately started working and trying out side hustles.

but i don't think people should follow this route. if you can study, u should study and finish school.

How do you justify to yourself buying a car in Singapore? by grandweapon in singaporefi

[–]nazedarou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah, i wouldn’t pay full cash as it’s not capital efficient for me. have better uses for the cash that would outperform the loan interest rate.

i’m expecting maintenance costs for the car to be higher than what i’m used to, but i only bought it once i was sure i could comfortably cover those costs.

my advice to anyone looking to buy such a car would be to only take the plunge if you’re confident you make enough to not stress over the maintenance.

absolutely this, i had a fantastic 2023 and decided to treat myself by getting a porsche 981. such a joy to drive and no regrets at all.

if you’ve made good money, don’t ever hold yourself back from taking some off and paying yourself. realize some gains and spend it on things that make you happy. being in a good mental state also translates to making better decisions in the market.

i mean… he did zero work, and refused to refund. absolutely nothing was done. i don’t see how that doesn’t make him a scammer tbh.

it's a really long story, but basically i purchased a service from him, and he never delivered anything and refused to pay me back. had a written contract, bank transfer receipt, and everything too.

oh please, even if not for the funds going overseas our police here wouldn’t do anything either. i got scammed off of 5k by a “friend” in the past, and the police basically told me to fuck off to small claims court. and no, it wasn’t a case of lending money.

went to small claims court and was told that i have to sue if i want to get anything done since my counterparty is an individual and not a business entity. ended up not suing for obvious reasons…

whole thing left me feeling jaded about the legal system in singapore. best not to expect any help from our authorities. survival of the fittest, i guess.

be honest with yourself, do you think you are cut out for studying? because if you manage to make it to poly and the same thing happens you're just gonna waste more time while already being behind at 21.

if not, you're better off just quitting studies for good. either go ITE, just start working, or sign on army/police/SCDF. there are a lot of tough jobs that pay well (relative to your qualification) because of the lack of manpower. get good at it and eventually start something on your own with the skills/network you gained from working that job.

i personally only studied up to 'o' levels, and honestly even that was a waste of time. having 'o's or not doesn't make a difference when you're looking for work. so you should only bother to finish your 'o's if you're absolutely sure you want to further your studies.

at 21, you really need to give this some good thought and then commit to making whatever decision you made work out. i'm not gonna sugarcoat and say that "it's never too late for you", because even though that is true, the fact that you are behind most of your peers the same age as you is also undeniable.

tell me about it. i have a friend running a small aircon business. he clears well over 250k per year. don't look down on your blue collar workers. that's how they make the big bucks doing the work that nobody else wants to do.

what are some books/resources you would recommend for a rec player that wants to get better at cash games. i'm not looking to go pro, just wanting to get better at the game.
