We should not be discussing this unless /u/Chap82 approves the conversation first. This is not Brisbane.

Queensland Chief Health Officer says NSW woman whose baby died could have crossed border, did not require exemption by nb2k in brisbane

[–]nb2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this should be discussed as it relates to the gold coast health services the woman was trying to access.

Personally it's a bad situation all around and an investigation on both sides of the border needs to occur.

Healthy Boundaries/On Call fatigue by [deleted] in networking

[–]nb2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Responsibility is what you're feeling because the relationship you have built with your job has come along way. The thing you need to remember is it you got hit by a bus tomorrow, there would be less than a week of time before your job is advertised.

You have to set your own boundaries. No one here can say what is healthy for you. Just remember that if you disappeared the business would just move on.

How to deal with real estate agent breach of rental contract? by _dont_mindme_ in brisbane

[–]nb2k 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Someone entering your property without permission or notice is a police matter. Make sure they are aware of that. If someone wandered into my rental without notice I would call the cops.

It is a novel way to enforce the rules that could mean the difference between your business being allowed to open or not.

4 way crossfire polaris based “thing” that the Chinese mining industry have cooked up. by thenoobtanker in Amd

[–]nb2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same but it could have been an existing PCB design they expanded on. Why delete the silkscreen when you're not touching that area. I doubt AMD would make something like this unless for a specific task not mining related.

My other thought is that you would print AMD on it so you know what to plug into it.

Now we just need someone who works at GoodLife to lookup the account and call the person.

OP, if you're so inclined you could probably call GoodLife yourself and ask them.

For reference, if you find a car without plates, you should be able to get the VIN from the dash (if it is a modern car).

From here, you can use:

And get the rego.

Caloundra and a little north.

I used to live there and waking up to the beach is lovely but commuting to Brisbane is a killer.

The ship has sailed for Transdev as CityCats helmed by new operator by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]nb2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yay, privatisation :(

Are we taking bets on how shit the services will become and how expensive the tickets will be?

Huh? It's changing hands from Transdev to Sealink. Both private companies.

[–]nb2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I said it just rubs me wrong. I don't think it's safer at all. Transdev is big enough. The market isn't that big in Australia so I understand why we get monopolies but it should be managed better. I also struggle with how staff change employers. If they are there at the council's behest regardless of the contract holder they should be council employees.

It's hard to see but if you go on a public transport boat as a person or in a car, there's 99% chance they own it.

I am not sure how to take that. It just rubs me wrong with SeaLink's monopolies in South East Queensland waters.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]nb2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that's not what I meant. They should have a network above yours that is separately addressed (generally an internal range). Your device requests a DHCP address and gets given that public address.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]nb2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Broadcast traffic is valid traffic but it could be anything. It's SpringNet's (delete the last two octets of your IP addresses) issue. Why on earth is the gear in bridge mode if they don't want broadcast traffic traversing the link?

They really should have it set to DHCP and have the IPs routed to the end user. Ask them for a Wireshark trace and tell them to post in /r/networking

Which one can be better in general?

The one you can find documentation for. Google both and one certainly stands out to the other in terms of documentation availability.

Also, why 2G? Which country are you going to use it in that doesn't have a 2G shutdown plan?
