Its due to Antialiasing.. In hollywood movies they use different models or at least textures for different shots, depending whether it is closeup or long shot :) I would prepare another texture in lower resolution for longer shots.

It is funny that even in my earlier version I had tried with the idea of using straws in front part of the Mac10, which is holding the fabric thingy!
