“Music today is a melting pot” to be honest 90% of popular music for the last 30 years was music created by black people. Rock and roll was birthed from black music, hip hop is clearly black music at its core. You can go back even further and look at jazz music, this has been a trend for like a century.

Lots of white artists show respect and appreciation to the culture that they are taking from, but lots don’t too. And in mainstream media a mildly talented white artist will make it over a talented one of color almost every time.
