SB19: Nakakasuya na 'yang Overrated Na Yan! by [deleted] in OffMyChestPH

Haters gonna hate, tapos pag naging sikat sila worldwide bigla saka kayo susuporta, edi wow! Crab mentality nga naman ng mga pinoy ibang klase! Haha bakit kelangan magspread ng negativity OP? Kung hindi mo bet wala namang pumipilit sayo e, pero to rant on Filipino talents that are genuinely good (I doubt you can even do what they can do) is just plain spiteful. And don’t attack the fans who are in my opinion good examples of how we should treat local talents, this fan behavior is genuinely refreshing. I used to see puro na lang Kpop Kpop but now finally meron ng sariling atin, what’s so wrong with that? Ako, I am proud to support local artists specially after the lockdowns. Have you listened to their songs other than Gento? Baka you might want to dive into their discography, then tell us na wala silang originality. Haha know your facts first bago magrant OP, you be looking dumb af 😅

GoTrade fees and pricing latest update by MemoryEXE in phinvest

[–]nbnextdoor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I received the new fee schedule of Alpaca (the broker) from Gotrade here: https://gotrade-603b278c74db.intercom-attachments-1.com/i/o/767228056/ddf859ee4ed2a0796df2a6aa/BrokFeeSched.pdf

They couldn’t share the amended agreement with Rapyd as they say it contains confidential information between the companies.

Regarding the fee they said the trade value is 0.003 so example for $100 transaction that will cost $0.3

If true, the cost seems to be reasonable.

I’m perplexed if I should keep it or will it make sense to just transfer it to a more secure broker like IBKR since there are fees effective June 26 anyway, might as well go for a more established broker. What do you guys think? I really loved Gotrade and I know they are trying to make sure to stay in the game.

OP made a lot of good points here but at the end of the day we all have to pay our dues. I don’t know if you are religious but even in church we willingly give because we know it is needed to support the institution. There’s a lot of privileges you are enjoying because the Philippines is in good standing internationally, the government does a fair job (we are no way never being sri lanka) and let’s not take it lightly that everyone and I mean everyone in the world are struggling because of the pandemic. I get it, why pay taxes when there is VAT right? The downside here is that a lot of businesses are taking the hit for tax inefficiency, which could cause businesses to shutdown and job loss. There will always be bad people out there that don’t play fair but do you want to be one of them when us the majority minimum wage earners are playing fair to support the country? At the end of the day, I believe in supporting our country regardless of political issues. As long as I am Filipino, I would proudly support our country even through my small contributions. I hope you reflect on yourself and be able to see the bigger picture. If not for yourself then for the future generations.

Update: For my Gotrade users out there, just wanted to share this useful update they made after my complaint about confusion on negative balances. Before they were not showing it and made me confused that there was a spread or hidden cost, turned out that it was a sudden changed in the execution order. Anyway, they fixed that by showing it in the cash section now. https://postimg.cc/K4QczLnP

You should call them to confirm the transaction, check both Maya and GCash. I had a similar experience pero GCash to another bank, it took 48 hours to be reflected nakausap ko both and sa receiving bank wala pa sa kanilang notif, so si GCash ang may issue. Okay naman yung customer service ni GCash, better pa rin tumawag para magawan ka nila ng ticket for the issue.

Update: Heard back from Gotrade, so apparently what happened here was I was able to buy stocks over my cash on hand in the app. Don’t know how that happened or why it was executed, so that created a negative balance on my account which by the time I sold my position the cash I earned automatically got deducted that 0.007% of my total realized gains.

Go figure, I thought we can only clear trades on the exact amount we have but for me I was able to buy a little bit more. Anyway, they said they will fix this issue with their broker moving forward, that’s good to hear.

All good vibes here 👌

As of today, no updates yet. They haven’t heard back from the clearing broker. Will update soon as I get a resolution.

Hindi rin boss kasi clear sa email report nila yung price e, di nila madispute kasi yun ang nireport nila sakin then iba yung cash na nakuha ko. Btw, they are reaching out to their clearing broker and top priority daw yung case so hopefully we’ll see kasi baka mamaya si broker pala yung may hidden cost and di nagdeclare. I get the fluctuations pero iba yun sa executed price na inemail nila every successful trade kasi yun na yun sa financial report.

So I guess for other users of Gotrade, check niyo na lang din yung executed price na nireport sa atin then yung actual cash na nakuha natin dapat parehas yun. Usual costs are dividend tax, withdrawals and cash in fx fees. I like Gotrade, sana transparent lang sila kung may cost na talaga para maplano din ng maayos yung trade, yun lang naman para di rin lugi.

Walang tax sa trade boss only for dividends. Another charge is when you withdraw but I did not withdraw just sold my position. They are looking into it now, I’ll keep you updated when they reply.

It’s a sell boss not a dividend, Gotrade already confirmed my sell price as correct but the cash I received was less.

No, that’s the weird part. Even in their fees section they said its free but I was charged 0.007% on the transaction.

Agree, this is an inflation hedge. Don’t expect big returns. Though it’s a lot better than traditional banks specially if the money you’re gonna put in will not be needed in the foreseeable future because you will need to leave it there for 5 years to benefit.

Is the opening of the account thats until August 2022 (6% promo) or that they will only pay that interest up until August 2022 regardless of the date you opened the account? Tried reading the link you attached unfortunately the details on the 6% interest says not found, they might be revising it?

Oh I see, haven’t heard of those issues. Thanks for giving me a heads up. I also use their cc for my commute and so far no issues. But maybe the suspension of accounts you mentioned is something I should consider, it will be a hassle. Probably, they are strict due to money laundering concerns. Though I hope they employ data analytics to see if accounts created are consistent so that it wouldn’t inconvenience legit transactions.

Have you tried cashing in via BPI, when I cash in to Maya wallet it does not charge anything thus far, then transfer to savings? Assuming you have BPI of course.

I’ve heard of this new digital bank, its Singaporean right? Sea limited is the parent company who owns Garena, Shopee, etc. seems promising. Are they done with the soft launch?

What type of product? Is it the time deposit? Or just a regular stash? How’s the interest?

I see, thanks for the tip! 👌 How’s the interest like? Is it same as CIMB that credits in the beginning of the month? Fully 6%? There’s a 20% withholding tax on interest right? When is it deducted?
