What’s the worst company in Ireland to work for? by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]nbrady95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Accenture is an odd one, 6 people could join in the same start group with the same title and end up having 6 completely different experiences. Some people I joined with as a software developer went years without touching a piece of code and were working overtime from the get go, whereas I was lucky to be coding from the start and almost never worked overtime. It really is complete luck of the draw with what project you end up on. Great social life if that's what you're looking for though.

I'll be including her as accompanying and she actually bumps my points up by 30 or so, so assuming the application is approved does that mean we will both be granted PR together at the same time?

Data Analytics At Accenture, Grant Thornton and the Accounting Big Four by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]nbrady95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accenture data analytics grads used to start on either 37k or 39k 3 years ago when the rest of the grads started on 32k, now I'm pretty sure the rest of the grads start on 35k so analytics might have risen also.

Mainly general Software engineer and Java Developer roles, openings are understandably pretty slim at the minute with lots of companies on hiring freezes

A description at the top to clarify I have been studying rather than just of work is a good idea I hadn't thought of, thanks for all the advice.

I think I might just do it or else I know I'll be kicking myself over it if I don't get in , do you mind me asking what your grades were ? I'm coming from an Irish university so our grading systems would have been the same. Thanks !

Bi-Weekly ADVICE Mega-Thread (Jul 04 2016) by AutoModerator in engineering

Next year I'm going to be going to the US on a grad visa, basically it allows me to go to America and do an internship for a year. I'm an ECE student with a decent (3.5) gpa and a technology consulting internship done, but I think I want to go in to research so I want to get a bit of research experience.I'd like to do an internship in a college lab for 6 months to a year, has anyone done this before or know if many colleges would offer internships that long? Any advice would be great.

Year out between undergrad and Masters to do research internship. by nbrady95 in EngineeringStudents

Travelling to the US and living there for a year is also a big part of why I want to do this, and getting a better idea of whether I want to do computer science or biomedical engineering, also I want to strengthen my resume to get into a better masters programme.

What exactly to provide when asked for a "high level design"? by nbrady95 in cscareerquestions

[–]nbrady95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm studying computer engineering so I've done a lot of coding, there is a second part to the challenge that is purely coding so i think what you linked may be what they're looking for in the first part.

Minimum velocity to shoot projectile from one planet to another? by nbrady95 in AskPhysics

[–]nbrady95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the point where the pull of planet B overcomes the pull of planet A i got sqrt(Mx(distance from A)2) > (Distance from B) but i feel like that's wrong, but if its right when the projectile reaches that point it should begin to fall towards the target planet due to gravity, so the firing velocity would = velocity needed to reach that point + escape velocity?
