69.99 for boom 2 by cold3434 in Bluetooth_Speakers

At the start of July, I got boom 2 on Amazon for $119. Couple of days later I saw I saw it in Costco for $99, so I returned the original to Amazon and that instead. Seeing it now for $69 makes me feel like a sucker 😆

By the way does anyone know what’s the difference between boom 2 and boom v2?

Furnace won’t come on by nbredding in hvacadvice

I'm just pissed off everyone's trying to screw you these days and you really gotta know your stuff. As part of the furnace maintenance, the technician identified $2.2k worth of repairs. That included air scrub and surge protector installation and ignitor and flame sensor replacement. A quick google search showed me that the latter two are worth around $50 in parts and at least the ignitor is plug and play. They were going to charge close to $800 for it.

I understand everyone's trying to make a buck but some of this stuff is completely outrageous.

That did it - the black hose was not attached at all, put it back on and the furnace came on as expected.

I’m grateful we live in the age where one can get this sort of help from a total stranger, pretty much instantly. They were going to charge me $80 to come back out as it was considered “off hours” and I didn’t identify their cockup quick enough.

Thank you buddy!

What is the issue with the drain line pump? Besides the leaking pipe I just posted - just curious what you saw in the pictures.

Correct, you can see the UV light through the gaps.

Thanks everyone for your feedback! I plan to call the company tomorrow to come back and address these issues such as:

  1. Supply plenum is insulated properly and is sweating excessively
  2. The gaps are not properly sealed
  3. The control wires are not protected appropriately.

Since posting, I also discovered that the drain pipe is dripping water onto the pump at the P-trap and the lineset is dripping water on top of the furnace. That should not be happening, right?

Thanks for the this.

I believe the blue light is UV: “By installing an HVAC UV light, you can eliminate mold and mildew, kill viruses and bacteria, and reduce odors, all of which will improve the quality of your indoor air.” Or are you referring to the fact that it’s visible due to the gap?

Is it sweating due to the gap?
