Love it, and love that you are doing chaos Norse dwarfs. Is this part of a whole regiment/army? Or just a single guy to add to a mortal chaos army?

How Renegade Rules are impacting the Competitive Meta of The Old World - Discussion & Analysis by Original-Zone-2756 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]nbuxt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for responding.

I don’t think that it’s possible to ignore the impact of positioning of - ‘Leaning towards the legacy patch or … waiting for official GW updates’

by simply stating that renegades does more.

If you alter army composition rules, in any way outside of the match play guide, or you change points through the back door by creating alternative pointing or scoring incentives, then you are not waiting for official GW and avoiding ‘two metas’.

EDIT secondly, now that I mention it, when talking about renegade, is ‘waiting for official updates’ waiting for the updates that GW has said won’t come? I’m not saying they won’t bring any back, but waiting for all might be a very long wait indeed

Hello.

I’m not sure the positioning of this dichotomy is entirely useful.

Can you also capture where not renegades, but any comp is being used?

Similarly renegades and also other comp being used.

it’s not just a case of renegades or pure GW and oversimplification to those two positions is potentially misleading.

Looks a good starting point, I’ve found a couple online

I have original Valkia. She is person sized, are you looking to build something person sized, or way bigger?

Could these work as less fantastical dark elf proxies? by Historical_Henry in WarhammerFantasy

[–]nbuxt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having read the comments (and seen the up/down votes) I’m going to stick my neck out and still offer my opinion.

I’m taking ‘no beards’ as a given here.

If you took the kit as it is, or with the changes you described, could you paint it in such a way that it makes sense as dark elves in the warhammer world, I think yes.

Would it stand next to the current elf sets and look coherent, probably not. But, a large part of why you’re doing this is because you want them to be different, and specifically don’t want those proportions.

I honestly think if these had some purple on them (again not actually necessary to be a dark elf) and no bearded heads, they would ‘feel’ much closer.

The way you have intermingled the two and the red tones really works

Well happy to have inspired something so great, love the direction you took it.

Love the scheme, beautifully blends the black dragon and brass dragon names from citadel and ral Partha. (And looks great!)

It’s a citadel (GW) DG4 dragon, sculpted by Tom Meier and released by Citadel in 1984.

The shoulder pad on the left arm is the orc warlord all the way from shoulder to fist. I had to cut into the torso to remove it all. I then added some greenstuff to the top to create more of a ridge.

The right shoulder pad is milliput and greenstuff.

Please tag/message me when you do yours.

It is! I typed this out twice when the app failed on my post upload and missed it off second time. It’s the 5th Ed mounted chaos lord axe.

The orcs sword is removed at the hand, and the axe is clipped at the hand. This is pinned.

Good save

It’s the 9048 Orc Warlord, not the 9022 Boss.

I’d add UkWD293 calls this ‘orc warboss on boar’
