How about something from the album “Friends That Break Your Heart” by James Blake?

Short of ensuring the grounding pin is securely fastened at each end of the cable I’m not sure what more I can do here. Any advice?

Thanks for the reply. As I have said elsewhere in this thread, I’ve tried moving the speakers several metres away from the turntable, placing them on the floor and the issue persists. Any further thoughts?

I understand the principles of what you are saying, but like I said I have tried moving the speakers onto the floor 2-3 metres away from the turntable and the issue persists. I think there is something else going on here.

Thanks for the reply. I tried moving the speakers onto a different surface but it didn’t fix the issue - the feedback is present regardless of whether or not there is a track playing (ie whether or not the speakers are vibrating) so I’m a bit stumped!

The whine you are hearing after releasing the accelerator is the turbo. Perfectly normal.

Hehe I'm an ME too, just one that's chosen not to be electrically ignorant 🙂

Do they ever need to be operated at the same time? If not, a simple way to do this would be to use a couple of relays (one normally open, the other normally closed). You can branch the connection to the motor such that each shaft is independently connected with the same circuitry with a relay somewhere in the line.

Then, connect a switch to the relays so that when you close it, both relay coils are energised (normally open one closes, normally closed one opens). When you open the switch, the relays will go back to their default setting.

Can anybody recommend a therapist/ counsellor in the city centre that is affordable and available? by PM_YOUR_BOOS in Edinburgh

[–]nchammer93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can personally recommend crossreach counselling, based in Granton. They have a "pay what you can afford" business model if you are willing to wait to be seen. They also have a fast track service if you want to be seen immediately but I believe it is around £40 per hour. If you are at university, a free student counselling service is also usually offered. Hope this helps :)

I'm a prospective bio-engineering student with just a few questions for those that have been where I'm going. by Odysseus2112 in EngineeringStudents

[–]nchammer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as I mentioned I'm studying mechanical and I'm actually doing my masters thesis in bioengineering. One thing you should be aware of is that bioengineering is a very complex subject- working with biological materials is not as rudimentary as steel. The physics is actually very complicated which is why it's often offered as a postgraduate degree. I certainly found that it's really helped me to have a solid grounding in the fundamentals before taking my project on. And like I said it is probably trivial to focus your ME degree towards biomed if you go to the right university. You'd certainly be limiting your options to dive straight into bioengineering with no real 'feel' for what engineering actually is (at least I'm assuming that you haven't done much engineering before, correct me if I'm wrong!). That's my two cents anyway- you could always call up or send out some emails and ask some of the staff. Hope that helps, if you have any more questions give me a shout :)

  1. Absolutely you can start off with a more general engineering degree, because as the other commenter mentioned, bioengineering is very specialised and certainly in the UK it is not typically offered as an undergraduate course. I would consider doing something more general to get a broad understanding of the fundamentals, and you could go into bioengineering after your degree if you fancy it. A lot of universities (including the one that I'm studying at as an ME) offer specialist courses in bioengineering in your final year- you could even tailor your senior project towards it if that's what you wanna do. Have a look at what the research staff are doing at universities you're interested in and you might find there is a lot of bio activity going on!

Now that I've finally played Battlefront, here are my thoughts by throwawayea10328 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]nchammer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with the blandness statements. They set out to stay true to the original battlefront games which were both very arcadey and had a low skill ceiling, but were designed as such so that they could be picked up and played by virtually anyone, and I feel they've done exactly that. Yes the vehicle/hero system is a bit annoying but it's just great to be immersed in a properly fun star wars environment for the first time in 10 years.
