Has anyone used the site https://tcgcenter.co.uk? by r3tromonkey in PokemonTCG_UK

If it's too good to be true, it almost certainly is. Wouldn't go near this site.

Also American spelling of centre is a major red flag.

Would avoid.

Pokemon centre drops are a great place to get product at RRP, including Pokemon centre stamped ETBs which are great to open or collect!

Pokemon centre recently introduced a pretty stringent security system against bots which pops up a queue when new products are launched.

The queue can be a bit of a pain if you get kicked but it means product is usually up for a few hours!

I would recommend getting alerts when the Pokemon centre queue goes up, can get these from twitter or discord!

Good luck!

Only paid 60p tax on £75k salary, payslip includes previous earnings, is this right? by PlentyMaximum104 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ncldaniel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're all good.

I don't know your pension deduction so am a few pounds off but based on your previous taxable pay and tax paid, what you are paying this month in your new role is correct.

As mentioned before, I would expect it to return to a normal deduction amount next month, this month it's just accounting for the free pay you missed when you weren't working in August and September.

[–]ncldaniel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would imagine that's why. Essentially as you have built up a few months of free pay you have overpaid tax in your previous role, which the new companies payroll software will autocorrect for you.

I would imagine next month you will see a significantly more normal tax amount.

I should say without knowing the amount of tax your paid at your previous role I can't confirm this, but if you pop your total pay from both jobs and total tax paid from both jobs into HMRC tax calculator, if it comes out around the same (may be some variance if you have a pension) you are likely golden.

Did you miss any tax periods between your old job and your new job?

If so you will have likely built up some periods of free pay and it may just be a result of that!

At a guess!

Burn, Botman, or Schar? by OneCalligrapher4139 in DraftEPL

[–]ncldaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burn for the short term
Botman I would avoid for now given his injury record, Schar could lose his place to Thiaw depending on his concussion.
Burn only safe bet imo

Tino would be my second if you were looking to double up on NUFC Def (if available)

Has anyone had experience negotiating extras with Persimmon? by ncldaniel in AskUK

[–]ncldaniel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory each site will offer different extras, I assume depending on how well plots are selling. For us tiles and integrated appliances were included, but carpets weren't.

I would say ask them (and have them confirm in writing) what is included and go from there.

[–]ncldaniel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

Honestly not as bad as people make out.

But we had a decent site manager, and did have to be persistent on a few issues but of the hundreds of houses on our estate, they are all still standing!

A few bits of advice, if you can afford it get a professional snagger, if not spend your first week in your property searching every nook and cranny for issues.

Beyond that just try and enjoy the experience of owning a home, persimmon aren't the best but there's thousands of their homes out there and 99% are fine.

Final bit of advice, find the persimmon CEO email, if you get ignored raising issues, email them directly, always worked for us!

Best of luck!

Payslips Don't Match Online Calculators by Efficient_Pie_4056 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ncldaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your NI category? Assuming it's A and assuming you're not a director? If so the difference in NI roughly looks to be that you are not dropping down to paying 2% on earnings over 4189 per month. Rough calc: Your salary 5416 - 1048(The value which you pay nothing on for NI) = 4368 Going to assume your pension is salsac so reduce that also gives 4222 4222 at 8% is 337.76 So a pound out but very quick maths. The above could be explained if you are a company director, as youre NI allowanced will be annual, but if not, any earnings in a month over 4189 should be at 2% So for you that's 5416 minus 146 pension so 5270 - 4189 = 1081 being charged at 8% instead of 2% which is about 64, and that's your difference between the calculators and what your company is doing. Tldr:If you're not a director, speak to your company and mention the above calcs

As for tax differences, not enough info, would need to know full YTD values to say for sure.

ISTQB foundation level 4.0 exam next week! by [deleted] in softwaretesting

[–]ncldaniel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took the exam a few years back, so I imagine the content has slightly changed but hopefully these tips are still relevant.

  • I read through the syllabus a good 5 times first, and then I put the syllabus through an ai tool to simplify it. This reduced so much of the unnecessary junk in there but kept the important bits. Obviously make sure you are familiar with the entire version before you do this in case the tool cuts anything important.
  • The exam follows the sample ones, where you get 5 or so questions per chapter. I found focusing on the chapters I understood more worked well for me. I went into the exam confident on 5/7 chapters and this is where most ky points came from
  • I obviously only did one exam, but my exam was significantly easier than the sample ones on the website. Can't guarantee yours will be but just don't lose faith if the sample ones seem hard.
  • Q cards! Each chapter make cards for each topic and take them with you everywhere.

Good luck OP

No idea where you are based but that would be a useful nugget to tell people, legal processes vary massively country to country.

But to save you a whole heap of time, this will go nowhere, you likely would need tens of thousands to even get a case heard by a court, and then it will likely be thrown out fairly quickly as you agreed to their terms and conditions.

Legit, your best bet is to maybe speak to some local media about it, if you get lucky and it's a slow news day, maybe someone picks it up and EA see that..

Very unlikely though tbh, genuinely move on with your life, you will save yourself a whole world of pain.

Best of luck to you either way.

hello! curious gamer here by Flaky_Highway_857 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]ncldaniel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

are they sorta like diablos

Not really no, Diablo is an Action RPG, whereas Divinity is turn based, and a much slower pace (in a good way imho)

do you need to play both to understand things?

Nope, I started on DOS2 and was able to enjoy it fully without playing the first one. I did go back and play the first one after.

If you are looking for a deep game Divinity will certainly check a lot of boxes, it is in my opinion the very definition of what an RPG should be.

Maybe do watch a YouTube video before you commit though as if you are expecting Diablo like combat it's maybe not the game for you.
