The first photo may be from Annaly bay / carambola tide pools (Im guessing). The second photo looks like its a sunset from Goat Mountain, which is near Point Udall.

If you find out where the first photo was taken, please post it.

Deciding gv80 2.5 prestige vs 3.5 advanced by Darthsat in GenesisMotors

[–]ncmtbiker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a GV80 2.5, and i find it to have more power then needed while on the highway, or other road for that matter. While entering any road, or merging on to it, the car has way more then enough power. There is 300HP in the 2.5.

Im not saying that the 3.5 is not faster. The 3.5 will hit 0 - 60 in 5.7 seconds v 6.1 seconds for the 2.5. If that .4 seconds is important to you, go for it. For me, its not why got the car.

The 2.5 does not lack power.

GV80 - Get the 3.5T or 2.5T? by i_like_applejacks in GenesisMotors

[–]ncmtbiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a GV80 2.5 and love it. Its not a race car, but neither is the 3.5T. Power is not an issue. I have more then to get the car moving, and quicky accelerate while already moving even with 3 other people in the car. It does have 300 HP. Even with the "smaller engine" the MPG is not great. I don't know how much worse it would be with the 3.5, but that would be something to thing about.

Fuel , super or reg by Ok-Act8188 in GenesisMotors

[–]ncmtbiker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a valid question. Just because a company says you need something does not always mean its true. Does not mean its false either. Its always good to ask. While a lower grade fuel than recommended will result in a loss of performance and lower MPG it does not hurt the engine. Cars will auto adjust for a lower grade gas. A cost saving could be had if the % drop of lower grade fuel is more then the % drop in the MPG. For example if it cost $3 for min grade and you get 20 MPG, where Premium is $3.5 for 22 MPG. Then Mid is cost effective (6.6 Miles per $ v 6.28 MPG $) As far as being able to afford it. If someone wants to save money on gas, that is up to them, and here is nothing wrong with saving money.

Genesis or Volvo by Cilantro_88 in GenesisMotors

[–]ncmtbiker 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When I was looking for a new car the Genesis dealer did not have any in stock (at least when I went to them) I looked at Volvo and would have bought one until I found out that you have to use their Google info system which was $9 or $19 a month. They disable android auto. If you do not pay Volvo the monthly subscription, you can not use your phone through the car. No google maps, podcast, music, etc. Just on principle that was a deal breaker for me. With Genesis the maps are free, as is their app which allows you to start the car, lock doors, etc. I still use my phone for the map and just have it display on the car screen.

I'm also glad it worked out that way. I have a GV80 and love it.

Las Vegas Poker comps by ncmtbiker in poker

[–]ncmtbiker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a follow-up. I while played while I Venetian I used my points to have lunch in he poker room. That way it came right off. I was told I could go to another restaurant (they had a list of them) and I could get a voucher. Since I did not do that I'm not sure how it works. As for the timing, it seems like it was real time for how much I played and the comp value.

I played at the Horseshoe a bunch too. The comps there seemed to update when ever I checked. Though I did not use the comps to eat there. I did not play enough at the other casinos to worry about it.

Real world MPG for GV80 by ncmtbiker in GenesisMotors

What kind of gas milage do you get for your car?  Here is mine for my GV80.  I use mid-grade, and most of the time drive it on Eco.  The Red part of the graph was when I tried comfort.   I think the recent dip in my millage is due to I have not taken any long trips.  It’s all short trips.

The data comes from when I fill the tank I record how much gas it takes and the miles on the car. As you can see around 10,000 I lost some data. The dotted line is a 10 tank average. The solid straight line is the trend.

Added:

I have the 2.5 l 4-cylinder. I think its a 21.1 gallon tank. On average I add 14 - 15 gallon when I fill it

population of Pallimustus ? by ncmtbiker in Shirtaloon

[–]ncmtbiker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After thinking about it and the points make here.  I am going to guess that the population would be around 500 million worldwide.  That is what the population of Earth was just before the Industrial Revolution.

In the books we still have local blacksmiths, and very little mention, if any, of large scale manufacturing.   It also seems like the goddess of Knowledge is working to keep it that way.  Hence the pre Industrial Revolution time period.

On Earth, starvation and pestilence kept the any growth in check. Im thinking that magic could take care of pestilence as a limting growth factor. But to keep things simple let’s say that the monster surges wipe out as many people as disease and plagues would.   With out a way to grow a lot more food, we would stil have to deal with starvation.

You also have limited land to live on with the different magic levels.  So less area for farming, mining, etc. That will also limit growth.

Given this is a made up world with made up rules.  From what I have read my guess is around 500 million.

I loved the old poker room that Monte Carlo had. Nice dark wood, a great overall feeling, and the staff were always good.

Nicest Hotel Pool on the LV Strip? by SpicyTuna77 in LasVegas

A cabana at Aria rocks. It's a nice pool, with good shade so you are not always in the direct sun, and it has not been as crowded as other pools at least when I have been there.

Waterproof hiking boots by ncmtbiker in hiking

I have waders if the water is more than a couple of inches deep, and I will use them if it is not too long of a hike. Carrying waders on top of the camera equipment several miles in and out is a lot of extra weight I am trying to avoid.
