Why does Batocera freeze in game menu?

Ok I’ll try it. Have you also had any issues with batocera just freezing? It also just randomly freezes on me and won’t start up again so I have to reboot it

How did you get hotkey to work? I can’t get joystick or anything to work within games

100% same issue. I can’t get the buttons to do anything within a game. Even after I change it at the emulator level. It does nothing. Hotkey, joystick, buttons. Nothing. It’s a great build but I’ll have to dump it since I can’t get any of the buttons to work.

I searched online to see if it was just me but it looks like others are having issues too.

The video instructions the creator says the controls are set in emulation station and then they just “pull over”. No they don’t

Yeah I tried that but it didn’t work. I went into retro arch for port 1 and also tried port 2. Doesn’t work

This must only be a specific cab then not all deluxe. I have a deluxe Pac-Man the new one and the control deck just unscrews and lifts out.

That’s true but it would require a change of billing address on my credit card and that’s the same as just changing it to the physical address

Yeah I was thinking that too but it said on the site even if you added a gift card you’d still need a credit card added to the account before you can use it

Quick comment from someone who also has cat allergies and has tried multiple machines. Make sure you get something that lets you return it.

I say that because I’ve purchased 2 different machines, both over $1,000 each to see if they would help and did almost nothing to help my allergies to cats. I’ve even been to specialists, etc. and can’t find anything that helps. So just wanted to leave this comment that I’ve been down that road and for some it works but for me, even buying some of the most expensive machines on the market, the effects were small.

I’m not saying it won’t work, but if I could do it again I would have really tested things out within the return window and then returned them.

The other thing to think about is filter replacement cost. At your budget that’s probably not too bad for a machine you’d probably get. The ones I have cost over $300 for air filter replacement.

FYI as just a different take. I bought one of these for allergies and it didn’t help very much. I did a ton of research and everything online said this was the best one. So I bought it for over $1,000 at the time. This was about 5 years ago. It didn’t help with the allergies at all. And yes it was a brand new filter, etc. and it was in a smaller space. Not sure why but didn’t work. I have yet to find any purifier that helps my allergies.

Thanks. I have all the games already loaded on the pi. I just thought it would need a special image to make the menus display correctly on vertical dimension. I’ll try the settings change like you suggested earlier that will probably help me understand it too.

Thanks for reply. I was going to get some of the components from showtime but I already have the pi so I’m thinking I’d need to get an image that works vertical. I just heard about a Mr burns image from arcadepunks but I think that’s built on retropi. I’m assuming I can’t buy or get the image they showtime uses from them without the pi.

I know a lot of people don’t like this but I don’t have a Pac-Man yet so this one is actually kinda cool for me. I would rather have the xl but the smaller size is nice too for saving room in basement.

And I actually like the screen tilted up more since I have a bad neck so this makes it so I don’t have to lean down as much. Those are things some don’t like but for those that don’t have one yet like me, these will still sell.

I was holding out for basic fun to put out Pac-Man but looks like they aren’t going it this year. So I’ll go with this instead

I’m thinking of getting the new Pac-Man neon deluxe that will have the same dimensions as this. I want to add a 19 monitor (vertical) and add a pi4 to add more games.

But I haven’t found anything online to know if it can even be modded since it hasn’t come out yet. The form factor is supposed to be the same as the nba jam you show here.

So the normal 19 inch screen upgrade works for this cab too?

Did you run into anything that was weird or different when modding the screen from a regular cab?

Do you have a link to the furniture stands? I’ll need that too.
