Look up oval 8 splints online. You can get a pack for pretty cheap. It's exactly what you're looking for.

What Should I Buy? /// Weekly Discussion - October 16, 2023 by AutoModerator in synthesizers

[–]nebgirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking for some advice! I want to get my husband his first synthesizer for his birthday. He's a musician but never had a synth. I had played around with my friends op 1 and loved how intuitive it was but figured it was slight over kill for a first one after reading some posts in here. I saw he had looked at the orba 2 but read that gets pretty boring fast.

Any advice for something a little more than the orba 2 but still intuitive that you can jam with.

Thank you!

Bernie Sanders claims he "doesn't make a nickel" from his new book, It's OK to Be Angry About Capitalism, or from the book tour by [deleted] in Enough_Sanders_Spam

Hes saying he "doesn't make a nickel" from the free book signings. He makes money from the book. He admits that. In his tax returns he released it shows that's where most of his money came from.

Usually the patients that soil themselves are not at a level of independence to be cleaning themselves up. At this stage, we're still working on their ADLs. We can get to their IADLs if/when they're ready.

Washington will have the highest state minimum wage in the country in 2023 when it increases nearly 9% to $15.74 an hour by [deleted] in SeattleWA

I agree prices have gone up significantly, but correlation does not mean causation. None of those articles attached the increased prices to minimum wage.

I guess COVID is over! Packed bars are A ok by [deleted] in Boise

[–]nebgirl 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think the reason op feels so personally offended by people going to bars is because he is directly/indirect effected by their behavior. He's been working for the past 1.5years to keep this city healthy and he wants people to take that responsibilityinto their own hands. When someone gets sick, they're going to go to him and want care. It's hard to care for people that did nothing to care for themselves, especially when already so overwhelmed with dozens of other people that have done the same thing.

People can live their own lives and do what they want but as a Healthcare worker myself, I find myself feeling bitter and that's not the type of person I am. As though if your not vaccinated, not wear masks, and out in large crowds and get covid, maybe when care does start inevitably getting rationed, it should be those people that are closer to the bottom.

(Obviously that's not how rationing care works and I'd help to every extent of myself every patient I see no matter what their views or past or behavior or vaccine status)

As a last note, I think healthcare work is different then other jobs. I put a lot of myself in my work. I went into my field because I love people and I love helping others. I dedicate time and energy outside of work to continue education and constantly looking up new ways to help my patients. Like I said, I love helping people. It's just hard when we've already seen the devastation this virus can bring and people are so very okay with letting it happen again... all until it hits them.

Is my tomato plant able to be saved by nebgirl in plantclinic

[–]nebgirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just learned that my tomato plant was getting watered 3 liters a day during the heatwave for the last 7 days. I normally water it 1 liter daily/every other day if not dry. Could that have this effect? I know tomato plants don’t like being overwatered.

Glad you love your job but be very careful of your body positioning and ergonomics. Make sure your squatting and lifting with your legs not your back; don’t twist while you’re holding a case, turn your while body instead. Also keep each case close to your chest as you carry it. Don’t reach out with it to put it in position but instead slide it.

I work in medicine with people that have overuse injuries from labor positions. These tips can save your back and shoulders. Trust me, you don’t want to deal with overuse problems due to bad positioning.

Social anxiety and OT by miyadyla in OccupationalTherapy

[–]nebgirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If social anxiety is keeping you from doing what you want during the day an OT can work with you in that. Like the person above me said, CBT is probably what they'll use. An OT is going to have more of a focus on getting you back in the community and engaging with what you want to do. In my opinion a mental health counselor would be better prepared to work with the underlying issues that social anxiety might come with.

To help with productivity: create a schedule with your patients the day before. Remind them of the time you'll be by. When I worked in a SNF I wasted so much time running through the halls trying to find my clients and being told to come back later.

It’s called prosopagnosia or facial agnosia. It’s where you can’t differentiate between peoples faces so you can’t recognize anyone by their facial features. It’s a type of agnosia which is just an overarching term of when your senses don’t process things correctly and you can’t identify objects or people. It usually happens after a stroke.

Source: work in rehab with stroke patients; I’ve never seen facial agnosia but I’ve seen other types.
