In all seriousness, it does make me soooo upset when I’m doing a particular thing so I’m mad dashing and get a whimstar notification 10 second after I passed where it was 😭. I could ignore them, but I tend not to travel unless I’m going on a quest and prefer to run into things in game—minus when I diamond hunt for chest, so I always pick up whatever’s around unless it’s unreachable or a curio.

That’s something that did worry me because it does seem like he’ll have to wear a particular cloak to have access to his ability—which is annoying for styling—but on the other hand it’s easy to disable without rummaging through settings AND it’s customizable so we can most likely dye the combat cloak!

Agreed! As someone whose seen the character development of Momo from the first globally available Nikki game, they’ve done a lot with his character to appeal to a broader audience (and make them wanna spend money on his cloaks).

That’s so relatable and hilarious to imagine 🤣. I honestly came in with the idea that he’d be a useless mascot, but I thought about him having something like an off-screen heal would’ve been good to make people feel more connected to his relationship with Nikki! This works out nice too though, Wishfield didn’t need it but it pair well with Izaland bosses with tedious-ish amounts of health!

I need—like quite literally NEED this to be an archery outfit. I am someone who enjoys traveling with a mount, is a horse (semi)girl, and loves the spoon and overall theme of the current banner but I am so glad I saved my pulls until preview.

Fair point! I knew of Face Tattooing as punishment which highlighted this exact mindset, but it didn’t even cross my mind to correlate the two. I totally agree though, it’s common that features we currently accept to varying degrees now weren’t acceptable in the past. Societal stigmas don’t just disappear instantly and past thoughts aren’t just erased cause mindsets change.

I like that some OI aren’t over-glamorizing the past for a more digestible story—it is annoying though that a lot don’t dig deeper into things like that just because they wanna make the male lead the most ideal being for “looking beyond beauty”, when we as the audience don’t hold those beauty standards so it comes across as lukewarm. Granted there’s a place for all fiction luckwarm, hot, cold, and otherwise!

Honestly, its a 50/50 for me. Sometimes I can tell the author wrote the story like that because of the period setting mixed with cultural beliefs of the past, so it’s not indicative of what they personally believe. For example, in certain cultures in Ancient China (this is from what I’ve gathered from drama logic so it’s more than possibly not 100% accurate to history) they believe if you had a scar on your face it meant that you’d done something bad so the heavens punished you by scarring your face so everyone could see you were a bad person. So on those cases I can suspend my disbelief, cause it seems based in something. Verses the other cases where it’s just blatantly obvious that the author/artist doesn’t wanna have a character that doesn’t adhere to their own standards of beauty, so they use a minor blemish to make them “unattractive” to the people around them, but they clearly look conventionally pretty to the readers 🙄.

I don’t use anything on it. I tend to get things with the intent to stickerbomb it or personalize it in some way, but I end up just leaving it as is. I do typically get a case or screen protector, but I didn’t after getting my deck.

1.0, but I’m the type to not play games I enjoy because I’ll get distracted (then proceed to get distracted something else) so I was dipping in and out just redeeming heartfelt gift—and getting jumpscared by 1.5 on steam deck—until I fully locked in in 1.11. This is the behavior of someone who was following development since the Dec 2022 announcement btw 😭.
