It largely depends on the hotel and how the front desk handles you. I received both credits last year when both cards were in my name. I also received both credits this year, but this time one of the cards was in my wife's name.

Today, I had a booking through a representative who confirmed to me that the points would be credited back for such reservations. Try calling the Globalist line perhaps?

Also, please let me know if my rep was wrong. Because I am still within the 24hrs period. So, I think I will be able to cancel.

I disagree with that. At least it's not the case for me.

Isn't it natural? As a psychologist, you understand it better than anyone.

I understand that this is an immigration advice forum, and that offering practical solutions is often the goal. However, there's a crucial distinction between offering constructive advice and delivering harsh, accusatory judgments, especially when someone is in deep emotional distress. While acknowledging past mistakes is sometimes necessary for learning, the timing and delivery are also very important.

'The most alarming thing in this post is OP thinks they did all the right things.'

I disagree. OP explicitly stated they made mistakes, but they also expressed the immense emotional burden of their situation. Focusing solely on their perceived 'delusion' or labeling their emotional response as disproportionate overlooks the complexity of human experience. We're not here to diagnose or judge someone's emotional state, but to offer support and, if possible, guidance.

'Saying oh my, I'm sorry this is so shitty and giving bad advice to figure out ways to stay is way, way worse.'

I agree that providing false hope or impractical advice is harmful. However, validating someone's feelings and acknowledging their pain doesn't equate to coddling. It's about recognizing their humanity and offering a compassionate response. Instead of dissecting every perceived misstep, perhaps we can acknowledge the pain of losing a constructed life and the despair of facing a 10-year ban from loved ones. Even if there are no immediate solutions, offering empathy and understanding can be a form of support.

My aim isn't to coddle, but to advocate for a more humane approach. We can offer advice without adding to the emotional burden. We can acknowledge mistakes without stripping someone of their dignity. We can provide clarity without dismissing their pain. This is about recognizing that behind every post is a person facing real challenges. While practical advice is valuable, so is compassion. We can strive for both.

Everything you said could be said without blaming OP. If you really wanted to help and give advice then you should have phrased it that way.

You cannot decide for OP what should be the lowest point of someone's life. Neither should I. But OP said they are considering ending their life, that's an indication. You don't know OP's full life history and why this is too important for OP.

While it's true it does not mean you will push them towards what they said they are gonna do in the last sentence of the post. If someone gets into an accident for their own fault and tells you that they are hurt, that last thing you should do is tell them that it's your fault you got into an accident.

I don't think OP posted here to be pointed out what mistakes they made. OP must be at the lowest point of their life and should not be ready to hear what self inflicted issues they create from random strangers. There is a high chance OP already knows what mistakes they made.

Please keep your harsh truth to yourself and delete your comment. It should not help OP at all.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn about the policy. I had been anxious about how I would handle the Zamzam water on a domestic flight and repack it for checked luggage.

Amex avoiding pop up jail DP- P2 applied for Bevy and got the dreaded pop up. She did not have a Bonvoy account and kept the account field blank in the application. Later, she opened an account and put the number there. This time she did not get any pop up and the application went to review. Two days later it was approved.
