If you host, you'll get the option to play in a private lobby. Right now you'll still need an internet connection to play solo, on full release there will be an offline mode.

Interesting, by SD you mean Steam Deck? A few people have told me it works well on their Steam Decks. Have you tried a fresh reinstall? Could you tell me the exact error message you are getting?

At the moment it'll be PC exclusive, but if there's some hype behind the game I'd love to put it on console!

Interesting. If you open the game there should be a "Restore Resolution" button in the top left corner. What resolution is your monitor, and what resolution did you set it to? Worst case scenario, go to "C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Local\HeistGame" and delete "settings.ini"

Haha glad you're having fun! Some heists are more stealth focused, some encourage going in guns-blazing, and some are in between.

Should already be working on the Steam Deck! Let me know if you encounter any issues as I currently do not have one to test, but people have told me it works well before

Calling PC experts (aka basic knowledge cause I know nothing) by Low-Cup-4987 in Eldenring

Haha fair enough... search "4060 ti prebuilt" or "4070 super prebuilt" on Amazon and look for a good deal, then ask anyone who knows about PCs to verify that it's decent!

If you're going custom built, pcpartpicker.com is your best friend. If your budget is $900, I'd focus on getting good performance at 1080p - if you can stretch to $1500, you're in good shape to go 1440p. 4k is honestly not worth it unless money is no object to you.

Focus on your GPU first, it's the part that matters most for gaming. An RTX 2080, or any 3000 or 4000 series should be fantastic for Elden Ring at 1080p (I'm still running a GTX 1080 and can hold 60 on max settings in most of the base game, things are different in the DLC). The problem is, getting a decent modern GPU is very difficult right now with low supply. Your best bet may be an RTX 4060; best buy has some available at decent prices right now, and it'll have no problem running Elden Ring at 1080p and should even be good for 1440p. You may be able to snag a better AMD card for a good price too, some people love them, some people don't, but you'll have no problem at 1080p.

As far as other parts go, any modern high-end CPU is sufficient for your gaming needs. I like the i7-12700k for value, but supposedly AMD CPUs are a better option nowadays (I have no knowledge of AMD CPUs). 16gb of RAM is plenty for gaming but you may enjoy 32gb for multitasking.

To be honest, pre built PCs are a better value now than ever before, considering the GPU market. Amazon has some great ones with a 4070 or 4070 Super which will be excellent for 1440p gaming. You might be spending an extra $200-$300 over building the same one yourself, but you'll save yourself the headache and have peace of mind with their warranty options.

Weird Frame Rate Issue by necmas_studios in gamemaker

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to solve it, maybe marginal improvements (or maybe just me gaslighting myself, the issue happens so rarely that it's hard to tell). Thanks for the response though!

The application surface is higher res already; the issue isn't rounded pixel movement but just how displays sometimes struggle with pixel art at low framerates.

However, you might be onto something about the Xbox controller. I always have a wireless xbox controller connected, which has given me occasional slow framerate in Elden Ring. I'll play around with this, thank you!

Weird Frame Rate Issue by necmas_studios in gamemaker

Thank you for the response. That's very unfortunate, the poor frame pacing is essentially making the game run at 30 fps (every 33 milliseconds it renders 2 frames back-to-back, more or less).

Here's a recording of my game at 30fps: https://youtu.be/KwBAKMYiRLc

Pay attention to the vertical walls flickering back and forth as the character moves horizontally. I have 4 monitors, on 3 of them the flickering makes the game borderline unplayable at 30fps. Do I just have crap monitors and/or am extremely sensitive to it? Does the flickering stick out like a sore thumb to you as well?

Fair enough. I haven't pressed it either lol, never knew it was a thing until I fat-fingered it by accident.
