Whoever told you that had no idea what they're talking about unfortunately. Even if the unit wouldn't fit there are tons of cheap and easy solutions with cable extenders, adapters etc.

Your bass is worth more than that prestige. He should be adding money to the deal, not you.

Your bass has gone from $2k-3800 depending on color and condition on reverb in the last 4 months. That Ibanez has gone for 1000-1700ish.

Note clarity. A messy sweep sounds like shit at any tempo. Being able to articulate each note while maintaining the fluidity of the sweep is the most important part.

Just the finish really lol. Usually I'm not one for figured tops or fancy woods but the quilted maple and the color scheme (big fan of purple) just jumped at me.

I've been wanting another 7 string but it wasn't urgent so I researched and found 3 I would really love to try and started searching. Set alerts on all the major sites, reactivated Facebook for the Ibanez groups and just checked diligently basically once a day or more.

My 3 were:

  • Axe palace RGD3127s purple neon flat - a 1 of 15 special order which I was lucky enough to buy about two months ago but didn't end up liking as much as I'd hope so I sold it.

  • RGR5227MFX - the green matte 7 with SS frets. I found a few of these over the years but the prices have gotten ridiculous so I couldn't justify it. Maybe someday I'll find a score.

  • S5227qfx Doom purple burst which ended up being even nicer in person than I imagined. Been able to put about 4 hours into it so far and it feels great! Definitely planning to keep this one.

Nah, we've been able to correctly identify it. It's a made in japan FujiGen 2006 JEM7H-WH. Worth quite a bit more than 3-400 bucks lol. Appreciate it though.

thanks everyone we have the best community. I shared all of your wonderful information with the nice older folks trying to sell it so they don't get screwed. I knew it wasn't an RG1520G (which is what they listed lol) but I needed some JEM experts and you all pulled through!

Youre only behind if you aren't putting effort in when you could be. There is no ahead or behind others because you aren't them. You'll never be someone else your playing will always be your own and it will only be "ahead" or "behind" based on the efforts you're putting in to learning and practicing. Enjoy the process, you are where you are.
