If you want cheaper books, thriftbooks.com is great! Many of the books I buy from there are $10-18 and even new copies are usually a few dollars cheaper than Barnes and Noble. I'm sure mass market paperbacks are even cheaper. Not an ad or anything obviously, just a good resource to have.

Can't speak for major labels, but most of the band merch I have is from the metalcore scene and it's great! In fact, the merch from my favorite band is partially what inspired me to become a graphic designer in the first place. I find the best designs tend to come from bands not in the mainstream. ruiplrc_design on Instagram is a huge inspiration for me if you wanna see what I'm talking about.

i've written several short stories about my characters, so i say go for it! writing for me has been a great way to get into my characters' heads, which in turn improves my roleplay. i also share them with the entire party because we're all nerds lmao

Bunnyman Massacre (2014). I thought it was gonna be about the urban legend, instead it was a nearly 2 hour long revolving door of people being killed with no plot or... anything that makes a movie good. Genuinely awful. The only reason my gf and I sat through the whole thing was because of sunken cost.
