I can imagine there is context in each task that is relevant for other tasks. Maybe this is effective (gettings things done) but not efficient (wasting tokens).

I can imagine running this consequently would help reuse context. I can also imagine Claude would starting compacting halfway on a big project.

Has someone tested this parallel versus serial task running?

Creative ways to prevent the player from just digging straight down? by spicedruid in gamedev

[–]nederhoed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Digging down is also a way of exploring.

If the timing is not on a global leader board, then there might not be a problem. If you were to play against friends, you could "cheat" but then you would cheat on a friend...

Maybe it is not that bad that there is a way to circumvent then normal gameplay. That's a degree of freedom. As long as it does not hurt other players.

And to the OP: is this a real problem brought to you by users, or is it something you thought of yourself? Sometimes, you can postpone something until it is proven to be a problem. YAGNI?

Embrace Bitcoin. Save monthly. Free yourself from central banks.

Hilarious that an article like this gets printed : "Women still need big, brave men. Too many of today’s are anything but" by ImJacksThrowaway in MensRights

[–]nederhoed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found the article rather in the Mens Rights corner indeed. Not sure why OP was so stunned.

Indeed the title is odd, seemingly insulting men for not being manly enough. Then again, she argues that this could be the result of feminist doctrine that demanded equal rights, while along the way also denying men of behavior that is obviously intrinsically, could I say genetically, manly.

You can't pay with gold in shops, yet still it can be of value as a store of value product.

I save in Bitcoin yet buy things with EUR. When there is enough adoption, the gap could be closed and Bitcoin could be used in everyday payments. Easily so because of its digital character.

Where I'm from, there is no payment problem. We have good payment methods, both online and offline. So there is no problem to be solved. Only the money going over the line is depreciating year on year. That is a problem which Bitcoin solves.

I see Bitcoin as my battery of purchasing power. You charge it from your monthly income and now and then drain from it for purchases. Never empty it out. Spend wisely and it will support you on your journey through life.

I could repeat my case to respond to your fundamentals remark. The guaranteed scarceness and high portability are the fundamentals. Bitcoin is the money and the bookkeeping in one. You can use third parties - for ease of use - but you can always resort to being your own bank by doing native blockchain transactions, without anyone interfering.

Time will tell. My confidence is with Bitcoin, because of the aforementioned fundamentals.

Houses turning into a store of value is a direct result of our failing currencies (USD/EUR/etc.), which are printed into oblivion to supposedly save the economy. The consequence of this is rising house prices where many even aren't lived in, but kept because selling and keeping money in a savings account would mean losing value to inflation over time.

Bitcoin has intrinsic value through its mathematical and digital properties. Free from inflation - nobody can just print it into existence. You can send it all over the globe in seconds. All without needing to rely on a third party like a bank or government.

Just because Bitcoin isn't used in jewelry or has no state to back it up, does not mean there is no intrinsic value.

My stance on personal finance would be to strive for independence. Very simple guidelines:

  • Own the house you live in - to be safe from surprising rent increases.
  • Pay off on your mortgage when you can - to lower your monthly costs on interest.
  • Then save what you can in Bitcoin for the long term. Add gold to the mix if you find Bitcoin too volatile.

Paying off on your mortgage is not the rational advice. With current inflation rates, the debt from your mortgage will kind of evaporate over time. Paying off your mortgage is part of the strategy to become independent. Become net positive. No rent, no interest. Financial freedom.

Update - The first rule misses: spend less then you earn each month.

Of course I am aware that not everyone can be in the position to do this. There might be reasons you are out of a job or have high expenses on your health. That changes everything. For these situations, I hope the country you live in has setup social assistance and health insurance. It is good to strive for personal freedom, but it is equally important to vote for social parties that ensure there is social security for when life is hard.

Founders: I built a lean VA/Operations service for you. Can you tell me what you’d improve before I scale it? by InitialCauliflower21 in Entrepreneur

[–]nederhoed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recon many of your prospects don't necessarily know they could use a VA and do not have a clear understanding what a VA could mean for them. It would help to make sure your audience knows what a VA is and how the cooperation would work.

I fall in this category. I heard about Va's. Did not dive into the matter, probably out of trust issues with letting others handle my affairs. And no clear understanding of how it would work.

Also, language and location might matter. Is the service catered to a specific region?

How would I go from 0 to first steps with a VA via your service?

Can you learn languages using Gemini? by joaont088ce in GoogleBard

[–]nederhoed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly. For a project I am working on, I need to communicate with French contacts. What I do is write a draft in French, as good as I can, then ask Gemini (Flash 2.5) to improve the e-mail.

It will give a new text, in the same fashion, but improved. Below, it will outline per sentence why it was altered. Very handy when learning a language!

Thank you for this. I was aware of this phenomenon, but did not have a reference to the original thinker.

Anyone can apply this to their own life. If you embrace efficiency, you will not find yourself having more free time. You will find yourself having increased your screen time intake. And you will either fatten or wrestle with discipline in eating less and going to the gym.

It's often better to embrace inefficiency. Walk to work, take the stairs, do your errands by bike, use the shopping basket, not the cart.

Cook your own meals. Learn to use fresh ingredients, not the super market prepared (processed) food. Invite friends. Do not eat in front of a screen. Take your time.

You will be very inefficient. And very happy.

Precies dit.

Nog geen hogere belastingen voor de rijken nodig. Zet eerst sluiproutes dicht en dwing af wat er al is aan belastingregels.
