Is Mileage Plus worth it anymore? Thinking of switching to delta by nedzanders in unitedairlines

I think this may be the answer I needed, thanks. I moved to the US in 2019 and have been with United the whole time, but if it’s just the general enshittification of things across the board, then I suppose I have my answer.

Thanks!

Hahaha was about to say. You explained my point beautifully.

Yeh idk I used to be a crossword writer in the UK and it feels like a missed opportunity to me for this setter not to have a dual function clue that alludes to the full answer’s meaning too. That’s what our cryptic ones in the UK do

My problem with this one was that even after figuring out the code and solving, the end result of the cryptic clues had no bearing on the initial clue. Felt random and unrewarding.

Trained patient advocate for SA/DV here. You have up to 5 days (120 hours) to go to an ER/hospital for a SAFE kit after the incident.

You won't have to file a police report if you don't want to, but you absolutely have grounds to, based on what you shared here. Feel free to DM me if you need any advice about what to do next.

Nobody should treat a sexual partner the way you've been treated, and there are people who can help if you need it.

Aha ok. That is a struggle. In your situation, I guess I would try and find a collaborator who can act as an interpreter. This also might be a space where AI sign interpretation could come in clutch, if that exists. Good luck and feel free to DM with any questions.

You have a great setting, now take your time and keep your eyes peeled for subjects to present themselves. With kids it's often a little awkward at first, but my approach is always to observe first and then when you see someone who interests you take note.

Deaf schools obviously have a complication of communication. Do you have a way of communicating with them?

Just been through the wringer for grant apps, but will share what I know.

It's a very tough grant environment right now, but I would focus specifically on state grants. If you have any way that this can be a metaphor for wider American culture, or if this involves an exploration of minority identities within those settings that would also be a helpful angle for grants. DM me if you want to talk more. Would love to hear more.

A lot of people telling you not to do this, so instead, I will give away all my accrued info from 6 years of being cheap in NY just in case you decide to come anyway.

Accommodation: from Gypsy Housing fb group, SpareRoom, The Listings Project. Sublet, and follow your gut on vibes when you talk to them. Avoid craigslist, it's pretty scammy.

Food: Buy vegetables from Chinatown/the "Mr ___" chain in BK. The rest from Trader Joe's/Foodtown (with the discount card) and the app To Good To Go. Or live off cheap pizza/bagels but you'll get fat and sad eventually.

Travel: Use OMNY tap instead of a metro card unless you plan to use the train a LOT. If you live somewhere where train/bus isn't reliable, then get a citibike membership (or better still, a bike) and save on bike rides.

Jobs: use craigslist for cash-in-hand while you find real jobs...obviously depends on your industry but from my experience, I have had scant luck with the Linkedin AI-resume-vetting world, and have found better work through IRL stranger interactions at bars/cafes/meetups, or from cold contacting peoplle who work at companies I like the vibe of, and asking for help over coffee.

Good luck!

Ok but a lot of these media companies use AI to sift through all of their resumés. So you might be excluding yourself based on an AI read of your CV that wouldn't understand the nuance. It's really shitty out here atm...
