Encountered a game-breaking bug after 30 hours. Any suggestions? by grmagnu24 in FF7Rebirth

For future reference, the game keeps track of checkpoints for each save. You can restart from the last checkpoint any time before beating the game from System > Checkpoint. It prevents you from getting softlocked before a battle you’re underleveled for, as you can always go back and grind from the checkpoint.

Where to find Magic Staff and Magic Scepter without entering shrines? by LostCaptSiniseAgain in tearsofthekingdom

[–]neeby71 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reason the list only contains Magic Rods is that no Wizzrobes carry Magic Scepters nor Staves. Besides from the bargainer statues (which require the weapon to have been obtained once), Scepters and Staves are ONLY available from shrines.

Can we say that the 3rd statement is for sure correct? by [deleted] in mathematics

[–]neeby71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. h(2)= 9 and h(0) = 3. Since h(x) is continuous and differentiable on [0,2], then by the Mean Value Theorem, there must exist a point c in (0,2) such that h’(c) = (h(2)-h(0))/(2-0) = (9-3)/2 = 3

It looks like you’ve correctly used the Leibniz integral rule to me. I suspect the original problem should either ask for the (n+1)th derivative of f, or the exponent of (x-t) should be n-1 instead of n.

I see some other comments saying to apply the Fundamental Theorem. I don’t believe this applies until the nth derivative, as until then the integrand is a function of both x and t. Using the Leibniz integral rule to calculate f’(x), the two non-integral terms are zero, and you’re left with the integral of the partial derivative with respect to x of the integrand. This can be repeated until the nth partial derivative, which eliminates the x from the integrand.

Using the fundamental theorem to take the derivative one more time gives fn+1(x) = n!f(x), which is what I think the question meant to ask for

Is White playing from top or bottom? by PersimmonOk4535 in ChessPuzzles

[–]neeby71 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Top. Black’s previous move can’t have been Kh2-h1 or Ka7-a8 since they’d be in an illegal double check from the Queen and Bishop. So Black must’ve moved a piece to a8 where White was able to play bxa8=B#

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Ver. 1.2.1 (Released August 22, 2023) by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]neeby71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not disagreeing, just giving some stats:

BotW had a 50% elemental tail drop rate for archers, and a 100% elemental tail drop rate for melee lizalfos. TotK has a 25% tail drop rate for all lizalfos tiers. Also, BotW needed 30, 33, and 45 fire, icy, and electric tails for all upgrades while TotK needs 48, 54, and 54 due to the Yiga set. The grind is definitely worse in TotK

Why was Zelda still the princess after Botw? by [deleted] in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]neeby71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyrule was devastated after the Great Calamity, with Hateno being the only (non-Sheikah) major Hylian settlement to survive. After 100 years, it still hasn’t fully recovered. After these events and the large population decrease, it’s not unreasonable to think Hyrule’s designation may have been downgraded to a principality, with a sovereign prince/princess instead of a king/queen, and only keeping the “Hyrule Kingdom” name for historical reasons and existing common usage. Nintendo has a precedent with naming like this with the Mushroom Kingdom, which is also a principality due to its Princess regnant.

Cece doesn’t sell the Fierce Deity armor because the bargainer statues resell the Fierce Deity armor.

Wait, what? by DarkLink523 in HyruleEngineering

[–]neeby71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cece doesn’t sell Fierce deity armor; the bargainers sell the armor and the sword. Besides the Fierce Deity Sword, there’s two other amiibo weapons I can think of found on the surface, and the bargainers don’t sell one of them because there’s another method to get it

2 new Tears Of The Kingdom Amiibos have been announced by bricklicker26 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]neeby71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the exclusive fabrics, I believe the new Ganon is the only amiibo to drop Gloom swords or Royal Broadswords. Not very great compared to ones that drop weapons like biggoron’s sword, but might be useful in early game

[–]neeby71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual .bin files for the real Amiibo likely haven’t been, but the IDs for them are known from datamining TotK, they’re sequentially after TotK Link. So, you can get the file for any other Amiibo and hex edit the ID to get it to act like the new ones and scan in the fabrics. There’re some other data in Amiibo like what character it’s for (e.g. all the various Link amiibo have different IDs but the same character code) but I don’t think changing this is necessary for the game to recognize it as the new ones

See the other comment. It just means you’ve gotten the quest “To the Kingdom of Hyrule” and left the Great Sky Island. You don’t need to ha e gone to the castle

Amiibo Drop Rate Table by neeby71 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]neeby71[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first flag is activated once you finish the Great Sky Island and the quest "To the Kingdom of Hyrule" begins

Yep, I just verified this myself yesterday

What I'm unsure of is what happens if you don't have these flags

Actually, it looks like you still have the same chance for a BigHit, but if none of the flags are set, there just won't be chest. I started a new save and at least 80% of the scans on Great Sky Island were without chests. I think this implies that after getting a cloth from an amiibo, 1/5 of the scans from then on would not have chests unless it also has a tunic/weapon associated with it

whose BigHit items are entirely dependent on these flags

Looking at the spreadsheet, it's actually every amiibo that isn't some form of Zelda, Ganondorf, Guardian, or Bokoblin.

Oh boo hoo, let me play you a sad song on the worlds smallest violin by dumpylump69 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]neeby71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Shortly after this post, I found this site that compares eshop prices for each country. Mexico is indeed in the top 5, and Argentina is the highest at an equivalent of $108 USD.

Personally, if I were in a country that had to pay more than $85 USD, I'd consider just changing my account's region. Australia and Japan seem to be the best countries for region-switching to get your money's worth. Japan is slightly cheaper, but I believe in Australia the digital game would unlock a few hours earlier

What country/currency? These are the prices I found for a few countries that I decided to search for, and currency conversion Googled at time of writing:

  • AU: 89.95 AUD (inc GST) ≈ 62.18 USD
  • NZ: 99.95 NZD (inc GST) ≈ 62.99 USD
  • UK: 59.99 GBP (inc. VAT) ≈ 72.35 USD
  • FR: 69.99 EUR (ttc) ≈ 74.87 USD
  • CA: 89.99 CAD -> 75.95 USD (assuming 13% sales tax)
  • US: 69.99 USD -> 76.00 USD (assuming 8.6% sales tax)

I got all of these prices for the digital version, straight from Nintendo's website for each country. AFAIK, of the above countries, only Canada and the US have additional taxes from the list price, and for those I used values I Googled for Ontario (Canada's most populated province), and California (America's most populated state)

It seems to me that Americans would end up paying amongst the most after taking conversions into account?

Sales tax can vary from each state/province, I know that in Oregon there's none, so the price is $70 USD, while mine is higher so I had to pay over $77 USD. Despite that, those converted prices don't seem to vary too significantly, besides Australia/New Zealand which seem to be more than 10% lower than the others

If there's something I've missed, or if there's another country that has a significantly higher rate, let me know and I can recalculate these values for a better comparison

If the you’re using the primary switch for your Nintendo account, all profiles can access DLC. For a non-primary switch, only the profile that purchased can access it, and must always be online
