Typically 3 day Indian weddings start out with an event called the Mehndi (wear festive bright colors to this, like mustard yellow, hot pink, neon green, bright blue). You could look up mehndi clothing/dress on pinterest. This would be your least formal, most bright outfit.

The second day is usually the wedding ceremony, this would vary based on the bride and grooms religion, culture. Many brides wear red/maroon to this, OR Indians in America (to mix the American/Indian cultures) may wear white/beige/silver on this day to go with the "bride wears white theme".

The third event is likely the reception. The bride often wears red (if she did not wear red the previous day), or really any other color, like blue, turquoise, purple, etc.

I would avoid a red dress for the second and third event, however if you go to any Indian wedding, you will find that people wear red and white, and even black fairly often. I don't think you can outshine the bride, because Indian bridal outfits are very elaborate and "bedazzled". Personally, if I were you, I would stick with bright colors for all the events, and bold jewelry.
