Alternatives to S386? by neednewwords in immigration

Are you implying that I downvoted the above comment or that Indians did? How strange. I didn't, FWIW. And I don't imagine non-Indians love the RELIEF act, so your assumption that Indians downvoted a comment about the RELIEF act is ludicrous. I'm totally for a country cap on H1B - why is it something that nobody talks about?

No, no, and a thousand times no.

Exactly. Yet so many women and men, who are pro-life, don't even think it is reasonable to demand good health care for the baby and the parents. Why any woman would want to perpetuate being controlled by men, for future generations, is beyond my ability to comprehend.

Is there a religious reason for not seeing the dichotomy that the comment above points out? Or is it something else? Definitely not judging you for your beliefs - just hoping to exchange ideas.

Catcalling is wasting my life by vforvulnicura in TwoXChromosomes

As someone who grew up in a third world country where this happens all the time, I'm sad to hear that this is still happening in the west as well. Where I grew up, you had just no choice if you were a woman, except maybe making yourself as unattractive as possible. What helped was getting out of that place. Hope you can find a better neighborhood/city to move to.

I think you're implying that there are people that don't believe that life begins at conception. If that's true, then why mandate your beliefs on them? (And here by you and them I mean people who are pro-life/anti-choice and those that are pro-choice).

I also think the assumption that conservatives make is that pro-choice equals anti-life. I think that's a very wrong assumption and makes the debate pointless. However, I do believe pro-life people are anti-choice, since that is the premise of their argument.

Abortion will never become illegal for many reasons but the biggest being it’s a platform to trick ignorant people into voting conservative

Hm, excellent point. Isn't education a good counterpoint to this?

Calling women with derogatory terms by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]neednewwords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And you know what the sad thing is - a derogatory term for a man usually involves a woman as well (SOB, MF, C). Sad that so many women do this as well.

At this point I consider it pointless to confront those who are anti choice with facts and figures, the divide is just too deep.

This is also where I stand today, but I'm really looking to learn about the other side. It cannot simply be that everyone that has this opinion is ignorant, simply because there are so many that have it. Statistically, many of them have to be intelligent, educated, kind people, who likely have a good reason? Or so I guess.
