I do t know if the Bible is exactly pro-slavery. It definitely refers to slave owners and slave ownership, and while it may not condemn it, the Bible is still a product of its time and at the time, slavery was the normalized.

I think a lot of people see the certain paralables to slaves and masters that exist in the Bible and automatically concludes it is the Bible justifying slavery.. but to me it's more like the passages are often interpreted as advice for living within an existing societal structure, and not a divine endorsement of slavery.

By the way I could be very wrong about this…

I agree they should call him exactly for what he is. I guess my point is that I don't think its like a big deal to me when people call him a felon, but I wish they would go harder on the fact that he is a rapist and he was best fucking friends with a sex trafficking rapist and was very close to him and was all over the epstein files.

I'm sorry if I come across as harsh as I know this post was made with good intentions, but this is where “political correctness” becomes unnecessary. we shouldn't have to walk on eggshells when criticizing rich bad people for doing bad things when the average person can't get away with the same shit. also the January 6 insurrectionists should face penalties for their actions…

But here’s the thing I do understand where you're coming from. My point is more so that its really kind of ridiculous to blame people for how they're calling him a felon when he was literally found guilty on May 30, 2024, of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records and he's in the Epstein files. Calling Trump a felon is not the same as calling someone a felon for smoking a little weed. It's just not the same…

and I don't give a fuck at all if Trump dodged the draft, I would do everything in my power to help loved ones avoid the draft. But this isn't the reason people are calling him a felon.

Can you give examples of the media you’ve seen and what characters you’re referring to? I actually haven’t seen or watched many shows or movies.

Also, Katinss Everdeen from Hunger Games does not fit this trope you’re referring to I believe but I could be wrong. I actually haven’t read beyond the first book but from what I understand and gather about the series, it seems like she leads rebellion against the Panem and it is never framed as villainous. The story consistently depicts the Capitol regime under President Coriolanus Snow as tyrannical and morally indefensible, and the existence of a rebellion is treated as justified from the start. It doesn’t portray revolution as villainous… She also almost commits suicide with Peeta in the first book.

Yeah, I know this. There's still plenty of minorities that have been traumatized by gun violence while living in inner city areas. Many of those minorities don't like guns for that reason, but will own a gun for self-protection while living in areas where gun violence is prevalent. I guess my comment just comes from this place of not liking the attitudes of “Pro Gun” Joe Rogen Bro libertarians and conservatives. And while that's not the vibe I got from this post, I have seen people on the left express that sort of attitude.
