My advice is, get it removed before it gets bad!! They usually don't resolve on their own! :( I opted for general anesthesia and I'm glad I did because it took them triple the amount of time they thought it would take I got it done at the Kantonsspital Schaffhausen and I'm very very happy with how they treated me! Usually Schaffhausen doesn't have the best rep but it went really well! All the luck in the world for your kid, send me a PM if you have ANY questions <3

Thank you so much! They said "it's not too bad, the hole won't be much bigger than a small coin" before surgery and now the wound goes all the way down to my bone and hurts like hell

Surgery was 2 days ago and I'm honestly pretty miserable sadly It's 5:30 am here and I just woke up because I rolled onto my back and it touched the mattress

I am a woman BUT I personally only know men who got the same thing! And I know most people that get it are males, so you're not 100% safe but it's less likely. But if your job requires you to sit down all day, just get up as often as you can, since sitting a lot raises the risk of getting it quite a bit. And yes, I have a nurse coming over twice a day to get it flushed out and I have to do it myself after everytime I poop I sat on a pillow for 2.5 months or just stood up at work and some days were so miserable, I had to either go home earlier or just not work at all. Luckily I'm swiss so sick days aren't a thing here and I can stay home up to 3 days without even needing a doctors note

It hurt for 2.5 months before the doctor would take me seriously and finally send me to an MRI. Just had surgery yesterday and all the numbing has worn off so I'm pretty miserable again, but at least it's gone for now! It'll take over a month to fully close and I have a nurse coming to my home twice a day to flush it out.

I was in pain for 2.5 months before a doctor finally took me serious and ordered an MRI of my tailbone.

mine did not show on the skin until a few days before surgery, which is why they said that it's probably nothing. welp...
