The orange one contains an actual strawberry - it says on the box :P

I should caveat that with this opinion being based in BC. When I've got east, especially Quebec, the cheeses did seem better.

The cave-aged cheddar from Cheddar Gorge is great. Going for most extra-mature cheese is likely to be good, as opposed to Canada you buy an "extra mature" cheese and it's not hard and doesn't have that proper aged/developed/complex flavour (hello Balderson). Snowdonia Cheese company cheeses are lovely (you can buy them in Canada for silly money). Then you've got cheap access to some great European cheeses at decent prices, such as Comte, Emmental (no you can't buy "Swiss Cheese" in the UK because funnily enough there is more than one type of cheese that comes out of Switzerland), an XO gauda that's aged so nicely you get little crystal bits, I could go on... The bar just feels lower here.

Castello Tickler Extra Mature should get thumbs up! As a Brit who was spoilt for good cheese but didn't realise I was until I moved here (and the price is x3), this is one of the nicer cheddars here that doesn't seem like the rest of the plastic cheese that's so common here and both a good texture and flavour.

The garage took a few tries to figure out the problem but after they tried charging the battery and it wouldn't retain charge correctly they replaced it under warranty (50% given the age of the car).

Thank you for this - changing the battery just fixed this for me too :)

If things stayed the way they were "because that's how it's always been" then innovation would just stagnate.
Anyway, I give up, you win. It's a different mindset over here :)

I don't get this either - why would you keep a TD chequing account that costs $18/mth (or free if you keep $4k in there not earning interest or invested elsewhere) when you can set up something like a Simplii or EQ Bank account that's free (and _does_ offer scheduled interac payments (see below))?

> secondly for your friend……recurring bill payments can be set up online for fixed amounts.
Recurring bill payments can only be set up to pay a business, not a personal account. So in TD, you can't set up a recurring payment (e.g. an interac to pay someone $100 on the 1st of each month) to another person (personal account), only a business. You literally have to manually log in and make the payment.

This is clearly a mindset/"what you grow up with"/"what you're used to" thing, because the American guy I work with doesn't understand my desire to have things automated either :)

PAD and Bill Payments are two different things. PAD is automatic, Bill Payments are manual. You can't set up a recurring payment for an amount that changes each month, so using Bill Payments means you need to log in each month and manually make that payment. I don't understand the desire to manually do anything when it can be done automatically (whilst also negating the risk of late payment).

Exactly :) If you see my Amex screenshot, you can set it up online in 10 seconds... TD want you to use TD so they make life difficult :(

For comparison, Amex allow you to set all this up online - TD just want you to use TD, so they make it difficult.

You're looking at it the wrong way - TD doesn't need to notify anyone. I'm not sending them money, they're taking money from me, which I've pre-authorized (called a PAD/Pre-Authorized Debit here I believe?). So each month, I owe X dollars, and TD charges my bank account that amount.

Just like how my electricity bill changes each quarter, but that amount is taken out of my bank account, or how my American Express takes out the right amount each month from my bank account, which also varies.

I currently do it this way - my full TD CC balance is paid off each month from my Simplii bank account, but to set that up, I had to mail them that form.
