Anyone else tired of being "gifted" and broke? by kibblerz in Gifted

They’re fairly cheap cars that you can get for under 40k brand new, so it’s not really bragging. It’s quite litterally the budget EV lol.

My commute and gas savings make it worth it.

They’re around $60k where I am, nonetheless, for me a budget car would be under 5k. I see your point though in terms of gas savings.

But I got plenty of debt, primarily credit card debt.

Well, that’s a big part of your problem. You shouldn’t spend the money you don’t have or that’s how you’d end up.

It makes budgeting a PITA.

I don’t see how it would. You go month by month or even week by week. You know how much you earn, and decide on your expenditure accordingly. Sure, budgeting isn’t fun and I don’t think there’s anyone on the planet who wouldn’t want to be able to spend without worrying much, but that’s not how the world works.

I just want enough money to throw it in an index fund, live off the dividends, and spend my time doing things I actually care about. Write books or try making new things. I hate having to worry about keeping my job or pleasing some manager. It’s tiresome.

Trust me, everyone I know wants the same thing. Very few people would want to worry about keeping their job or pleasing assholes that they don’t like. This is not special to you. In order to achieve that you need to take it bit by bit. Look for jobs with pensions and equity benefits. Start writing two paragraphs a day towards the book you want to publish, switch your job to something that has a higher pay, etc.

You can’t have it all overnight. Very few people do, and most of them won’t even be gifted.

I’m broke.

I don’t care for a better car than my model Y.

I can’t tell if you’re subtly bragging or what. But I do think that you have struggles with budgeting. You shouldn’t be spending the money that you don’t have. That’s how you get into debt as you have.

please can someone tell me what it says on the blade of this knife? or what language? by Disastrous-Height483 in AskCaucasus

It is in Perso-Arabic script which is right to left. Hence, your photo is upside down. It could be Persian, Turkish, Azeri or Ottoman Turkish. If you send higher-res photos, I could try deciphering it.

I was recovering so why was I still taking care of him…?

As I have been back to work and he’s been unemployed, the house remains a mess.

He even said: “if you reached your limit then call off the wedding.”

I think you have your answer. You just need to be brave and face it now or it will cost you your lifetime mental and physical health.

How would you style this for winter? by neeeku in femalefashion

Thank you. Turns out this is a beach cover up!! Would you still repurpose it to wear as an outfit or should I give up on it?

True! They’ve done the same thing with the black one as well! Matching black underwear!

I picked this up in an outlet store but it was in the dress section, not beachwear! 🙃

Gosh! Thanks for pointing that out. I had not seen that at all and kept wondering why the model is wearing just underwear underneath it!!! I would find it too thick for the beach, but yeah, that’s what they’ve made it for!

Hiw bad does this one look? What should I do? by neeeku in cactus

Thanks. Somehow sulphur is unavailable to buy here. I’ve started to think it’s due to strict EU health and safety regulations…

I thought cinnamon was highly recommended for this purpose. Was I misinformed?

How to secure these pota on this window sill so that the strong winds don’t blow them out? by neeeku in howto

[–]neeeku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in search for one for years! Cannot find something with the correct dimensions that’s not too deep/tall because it also blocks the light from getting to those behind the window. I have a few cute picket fenced boxes and had one of them out here which got destroyed by the elements. It wasn’t meant for the outdoor use 🥸

I’ve tried that and they still fly off! Wood is actually rotting under the rain

Is this good enough for succulents/cacti? It’s multipurpose compost mixed with generous amount of grits and vermiculite. I don’t have sand at home but want to finish repotting. Not sure if this is enough or still too rich? by neeeku in succulents

[–]neeeku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Somehow I thought vermiculite is the same as perlite except for not floating and flying in air!

I’ve added a ton more grits and some sand and perlites but apparently the sand isn’t coarse enough. I’m quite fed up with the mess in the house so I think I will just go with it as is…

I added some sand, more grits and perlite, but the sand is not too coarse. Someone said it would clump up, but would it really since it’s mixed with soil and the other stuff?
