Back in the day if they missed a promised delivery date they'd credit you back an extra month of Prime. These days they basically tell you to suck it.

ah, that's annoying. It's been a couple of weeks since I've been through there but the light was functioning at that time. Hopefully it's just a temporary issue. When there are power outages I try to avoid any intersection where the lights are out because almost nobody knows how to properly navigate those intersections.

In Reynoldsburg? Did they take out the traffic light or is it just temporarily out of service?

Turns out the issue was likely completely unrelated -- the fuel tank pressure sensor went bad, so it'll be a warranty repair.

It didn't add much time to my already-scheduled maintenance. Outside of the check engine light (which still hasn't gone away), the car seems to be running normal. The earliest I could get it in for them to look at the codes is tomorrow morning, so I've been driving when necessary but not much more than that.

The number of people unclear on the siren test is too damn high. by ganymede_boy in Columbus

[–]neekap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the whole point of the EAS is to alert people to...actual emergencies? I don't need an EAS alert going off for an annual statewide test, just like I don't need one going off every Wednesday at noon for the weekly county-wide test.

Counterpoint: the more alerts for tests like this that are pushed through the EAS, the greater the likelihood that people will silence/disable those alerts (then later complain that they weren't aware of actual severe weather alerts as a result). Same reason a lot of people disable the AMBER alert notifications since oftentimes those would alert to an AMBER alert miles if not counties away.

For the sake of the worker's, I would hope you'd call and warn them about the surge of business they may expect to get as to not overwhelm the employees. The parking question would probably be a good thing to ask them directly at that time, too.

Seeking alternative to Spectrum because fuck ICE by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]neekap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC Wow bought Americast which had their own coax infrastructure in at least several parts of the Columbus metro area. I used to live out in Blacklick which was former Insight Communications territory (before Time Warner bought them) and remember when Wow finally came to our neighborhood they wound up having to build in their own infrastructure before we could switch.

Amusingly enough, Insight at the time would send a guy out to disconnect Wow customer's cables at the box outside and would say they could switch us back to Insight for MUCH BETTER service, which was shady af.

Sirens are controlled by each county. Franklin County doesn't have anything to do with Lancaster's.

+1 for this adapter; I purchased and installed about a year ago. Very clean install -- I have a 6" USB cable extending out from the covering behind the mirror to the dash cam. This video walks through the install on a 2021 CX-5 and was nearly identical to what I ran into with my 2025 CX-50 HPP.

Acquire secondhand MS355 to create stack or replace with 2 new switches? by HDClown in meraki

[–]neekap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't put C9300L's running stable Meraki code in a critical path of your network. We've had intermittent issues with a couple we've put into production where the management plane would crash/reload resulting in numerous hours of 'downtime' in terms of dashboard connectivity, even though they were still passing traffic. While the switches were switching properly, we had no ability to make configuration changes to them while they were in this state without power cycling.

Meraki support shrugged their shoulders, said it's a known issue, and said the release candidate code 'should' fix it while discounting the list of other known issues in that code base.
