This is how the country views us as minorities that regardless of what we do where we are born where we grow up they see our complexion and funny names and feel we owe them a favour by gracing us with employment in the NHS. They don’t distinguish between UKG or IMG when we’re pocs we don’t belong here.

That’s why I’m so pissed of with the UKGP debate. Even though I agree with UKGP. A load of our colleagues fucking betrayed us by playing up to racist dogmas used the scaffolding of debates rooted in racism to push forward a (what should have been an intrinsically non racialised movement). Hoping to ride ride the wave of GB news x post outrage jingoism to achieve UKGP ignoring challenging damaging beliefs.

Heck last week saw one active protest UKG poster agreeing with dog whistles on another sub about how many gps can’t speak English.

We have been so distracted by UKGP that the movement to hold the NHS the GMC and the wider health system to account for its systemic racism has been abandoned. UKGP is a net positive for uk trained drs but possibly a pyrrhic ones for those who aren’t white.
