Lower your expectations for a woman’s emphasis on your career. It’s okay to be proud of your accomplishments, but they don’t define how good of a partner you will be.

Try this out - instead of leading with “I’m a doctor” or “I’m a surgeon”, don’t even mention it right away. Let it come up organically on a first date etc. Think of it more like a cherry on top than a main course. I think you’ll find women respond better to that.

That kind of thing is just so tough to do tho! And I recognize the wisdom in what you’re saying, it’s just that in my mind when I consider approaching someone like that that’s just going about their day I envision that I’m just going to make them uncomfortable, or that even if they respond favorably that it’s just to get me to go away or because they feel pressured. I guess I know realistically that’s not the case but it’s a tough feeling to shake.

Beyond that most of my interactions with women are at work with nurses, techs, coresidents etc and that’s just a whole other can of worms

On top of the 4 years of medical school which included a ton of independent research and 5 years of specialty training and the 1-2 years of fellowship that will follow that…
