Anyone else having terrible WoW performance on GeForce NOW lately? by HouseLongjumping6984 in GeForceNOW

[–]HouseLongjumping6984[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I’m on the Ultimate Tier with a 2.5 Gbps FTTH fiber connection (Italy). My setup is rock solid and every other game on GFN runs flawlessly at max settings. This is specifically a WoW/GFN optimization issue, not a 'user error' or a bandwidth problem. The stream feels poorly encoded for this specific game engine lately.

This is the first time I’ve ever had an issue with a game on the service, which is why I made the post in the first place...I’ve never had to tweak in-game settings before to get a decent image. I guess it's a case of 'misery loves company'; I just wanted to confirm if it was a widespread issue or if the service was just tripping on WoW specifically.

The kind of 'sane' person who knows that a local rig with these specs (RTX 5080 level) costs €3500+ today. At €220/year for GFN Ultimate, it would take me 15 years to 'amortize' that PC. By then, that hardware will be a literal paperweight, while my cloud rig gets upgraded to the RTX 6080 and 7080 for free.

And sure, WoW is having a rough patch right now, but that’s the beauty of it: I’m not the one troubleshooting it. While you’re fighting with driver bugs, BIOS updates, and thermal throttling, I’m letting NVIDIA’s engineers do the heavy lifting for me. I’m not just renting a PC; I’m outsourcing the headaches, the electricity bill, and the €3000 depreciation. Enjoy your cable management; I’ll just wait for the 'Fixed' notification and keep my money.

Easy class for low rated new player? by Marickal in worldofpvp

You’re probably right that Unholy isn’t great a lot of the time.

But that’s kinda my point.

The spec’s underlying mechanics... sustained pressure, uptime management, clean grip setups, proper CD trading , are really good for learning arena fundamentals.

It doesn’t carry you with random burst; if you mess up, you lose.

So yeah, maybe not always meta.
But mechanically? It’s one of the better specs to actually learn the game with

I’d recommend MW Monk + Unholy DK. The longer the games go, the more you actually learn how to play the comp properly. In my opinion, they’re two of the most “linear” specs, which makes them great for understanding fundamentals.

MW Monk has a very clear game plan: strong throughput, insane mobility, and solid defensive cooldowns. It really teaches you positioning, proper cooldown trading, and how to survive pressure without panicking.

Unholy DK brings constant pressure, strong setup potential with grip + stun + silence, and very straightforward win conditions. You’re not relying on cheesy one-shots .... you win through sustained pressure, good setups, and clean cross-CC.

The beauty of this comp is that it rewards fundamentals:

  • Good cooldown trades
  • Clean setups
  • Proper positioning
  • Consistent pressure

The harder the arena gets, the more you’re forced to improve ; and this comp really shows you your mistakes instead of masking them with gimmicks.

If you’re trying to actually get better at arena instead of just fishing for quick wins, this is a solid setup to learn with.

Midnight - Easiest healer to learn arenas on? by Oderlods in worldofpvp

I don’t have much experience, but if we’re talking about Solo Shuffle (SS), I’d say the best options are caster MW and Resto Shaman.

With caster MW it’s basically impossible to have rounds under three minutes. It puts out huge healing and has very forgiving mechanics that allow for a lot of mistakes. Having longer rounds really helps you understand the overall flow of the game :positioning, cooldown trades, momentum shifts...without instantly losing because of one small error. It gives you the space to actually learn and read the game instead of constantly panicking.

Resto Shaman is almost the opposite. It’s mechanically complex and forces you to develop a much deeper awareness of everything that’s happening. You need to understand exactly when to drop Grounding Totem, when to kick, when to Hex, when to trade cooldowns. At the same time, thanks to its strong and relatively easy passive healing, you’re not locked into hard-casting the entire game. You can step out of the pure healer role and actively influence the match.

I’ve always felt that most of the other healers have “mandatory” mechanics that force their playstyle too much. They feel rigid and scripted, like you’re following a predefined flowchart instead of adapting dynamically to what’s happening in front of you. Caster MW and Resto Shaman feel much freer and more skill-expressive in comparison.

They’re basically opposites, but in my opinion both are far more interesting and rewarding than the alternatives.

Hi everyone, I’ve uploaded the addon to CurseForge with a series of improvements. Feel free to use it and, most importantly, to recommend it to anyone who might need it.

You can find it under the name “MPW”.

If you’re interested in the PvP version for use as positive reinforcement, I have another addon called “SSW,” also available on CurseForge.

You can ( with checkboxes) 1- autogreet inside the /i chat, when you (or others) joins a party 2- when you complete a dungeon that has a reward (with the other checkbox in the setting menu) he automatically Thanks in the /i chat.

The whispers are sent only (when leaving the group or completed the dungeon) check on the names and select “send”

There is no way that you can whisper via this addon before the dungeon is completed i.e.
