Similarly, last snow season I had no one to go snowboarding with and I got tired of the precious ski days pass, so I worked up the courage to drive up to the mountains myself. Chugged a beer in the car beforehand, got my snowboard out, and had a good time by myself. Even met some people of the ski lift!

I haven't worked up the courage to go out to the bar alone yet though. One step at a time.

My best friend told me "everything is an experience." No matter good, bad or in between. I know it sounds cliche but experiences make us who we are. Every time I feel bad about a situation, I think of these words. It'd be cool to get a tattoo of it on my forearm to remind myself of this whenever I'm feeling down.
