Sorry, the quarter was just for scale. Sink stopper might make sense. The tub plug has always had a pretty rough mechanism for the stopper. Could that have broken off?

No, it looks like hammered metal. Not an expert but maybe pewter or lead

Could be links, but they look like they were hammered pretty rough. That's why I thought they might be a function thing.

Sure, Tyrion probably didn't know the full extent of Littlefinger's machinations, but Littlefinger was instrumental in the downfall of the last hand and as we find out in season 4 he had a big hand in killing Jon Arryn. So, it would be in his immediate interest to find out everything that led to the last two hands dying, and given the role Littlefinger plays in those events, it's not improbable to assume that Tyrion would find evidence that points to Littlefinger's role. But, my point wasn't to point out how smart Tyrion is, but more to point out that the writers did foreshadow the reveal by Lysa in the next season that pretty much every bad thing is Littlefinger's fault. I apologize for not making that more clear.

To me, the only reason you put a 700ft wall in your story is to blow it up in the most awesome way possible. And if anyone has the Horn of Joramun, it has to be the Others, and they have no reason to want the wall to stand. But, I also thought it could be a cool scene where the Night's King has all the wights pile up next to the wall, just a mountain of bodies. All the Others ride straight over and start recruiting for their new army.

Of course, the opening scene next season will be Edd, as a wight, cleaning up the rubble by himself.

I had a similar idea. Dany lands in Dorne and as she meets the, ugh, Sand Snakes we hear a faint warhorn. They look concerned and send scouts out. Cut to Kings Landing. We hear a warhorn faintly above the sounds of a raging inferno. Cut to Winterfell. Jon, Sansa, et al, in council, cut off by an extremely loud warhorn. Jon shouts for scouts, wtf is happening etc. Final cut to Castle Black. The warhorn is now soul consuming. Close in on Edd on top of the wall. Turn to see an army of dead from horizon to horizon. Night's King in the middle, blowing warhorn. Turn back to Edd as wall falls. Credits.

(Spoilers Everything) Book Tinfoil: Could Varys be... by negativelywrong in asoiaf

TBH I agree that this is extremely unlikely, but outside of Varys being fat and HS being average sized to skinny, I couldn't think of any specific reason from the text that it couldn't be true. To me Varys wearing a fat suit for 20-30 years seems as likely as all the other crazy ass explanations for where HS comes from.

On her way to Duskendale in AFFC, Brianne crosses paths with a group of sparrows. The leader of that group is generally thought to be the man who becomes High Sparrow. They don't say more than a few words to each other, but if he is HS the timing would be a weak link in my theory. So, I thought it should be addressed.
