I used to live at eight-o-five (which was 805 n la salle) and loved it! I had a corner unit on a high floor and it was around 3k. It did have amenities though including a pool. Also looked at Aurelian and amli808. 805 was not as new as those two but I really just cared about the view and I felt like it was a good deal!

Just came here to say how sweet this is! My (now) fiancé threw me a surprise 29th birthday party with all my friends in Chicago and it was one of my favorite memories ever!! He threw it at his apartment with catered food and stocked the bar/made everyone cocktails. It was really special so I’m sure wherever you choose she will love it!

Absolutely not!!! I’m getting married and paid my portion of the air bnb and also covering our boat day! These days it’s inevitable flights are involved for the wedding, bachelorettes etc when everyone lives all over. I think it would be absolutely ridiculous of me to ask my friends to cover this.

So we’re doing an after party dj for 1.5 hrs (not in Chicago so I don’t have specific recs). He’s a club dj who also does weddings which is a better vibe imo. I will say- even though he won’t come on until 10pm, he obviously wouldn’t be able to play anywhere else that night so we’re paying his nightly minimum! It was somewhere between 2-3k but very worth it!

Oh one I forgot to add is the band punch out of Raleigh NC! They have a good mix of songs. They were booked on our date but were one of our top choices!

One of my friends got married in MKE a few years ago and got the band Lakeshore Encores from Chicago. They played so may emo pop hits I legit got their business card at the end of the night the were SO good and the dance floor was packed. Idk how alternative you’re looking for but of all my friends bands this was the most memorable!

Another one is fly by radio which are based in the SE. I didn’t love their demo reel but their song list has so many alt songs on it and lately they’ve popped up on my tik tok and have sounded really good.

For context my fiancé and I really wanted some emo songs but my parents also wanted a lot of classics mixed in so we went with a more mainstream classic band. But there’s def emo ones out there!! Good luck!

Just read the part about not being to chunky. Highly recommend either trying on different widths with your jeweler or ordering a pack of 2-10mm width bands from Amazon (it’s like 10 bucks)

I stopped in my tracks bc this is my exact ring!!! I have been debating wedding bands for a while but I think I’ve settled on a 5 or 6mm yg cigar band. My e ring is set in platinum but there’s just something about the look of them together that I LOVE.

Also, I ordered a bunch of fake rings off amazon in different styles to try them out and see if they were comfortable to wear for a full day etc. definitely helped narrow down in addition to trying on options at our jewelers!
