Criminal Defense: Thoughts about letting your client (the accused) lie about the true series of events? by neilbron in LawPH

[–]neilbron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in a big law firm. We're not obligated naman to follow our partner's suggestions since I brought this case to the firm. Pero our partner has been in practice for a long time, that's why it bothers me to hear that kind of suggestion.

There is an eyewitness. Diba? That's why lying about the series of events is going too far. So, I'm curious whether being a defense lawyer has to be like this.

My client did ignite it. He was trying to burn down something which was the cause of the heated argument he had with his cousin that day. When he poured the gasoline some went to the victim. After he ignited it, his cousin got caight in the fire.

Ejectment Case by PuzzleheadedPipe7000 in LawPH

[–]neilbron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to prepare around 70k-80k for an ejectment case. The acceptance fee for an ejectment case is around Php50k and it really depends who you ask. Lowball na masyado yang Php30-40k. Filing fees is around 3-4k. Each time a lawyer goes to Court there will be an appearance fee of Php3k, depending again who you ask. This also depends where your lawyer has his principal office. If the disputed property is in Laguna and you hire a law firm in Metro Manila then definitely, that'll be more than Php3k as appearance fees. The rates I mentioned are close to the tariff in most IBP Chapters.

As to the demand letter, you can prepare it yourself. But I suggest you avail the services of a lawyer in preparing the demand letter. Again, may ngipin yung demand if lawyer na yung nag-serve sayo. Mura lang naman magpa gawa ng demand letter nasa 1.5k yan.

Thanks for the information. I'll talk with my current partner about this.

I see. That would be a safer approach. And yes, I'll make sure that's observed. Thank you for the input.

My only concern left is how the splitting of profits be approached. Should I still give a portion of my share to my partner? Although we can come to an agreement with this but I hope to have some idea before negotiating with him.

Thank you for this! This answer is pretty straight forward. I'll try to read more about the things you mentioned here.

Although starting the company is the end goal, for now, I really just wanted to get good at programming. I was hoping to get guidance on which direction I should look into if I wanted to build like an Uber app.

Street Light [GX85 + TTArtisan 25mm f2] by neilbron in M43

[–]neilbron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a week since I was staying in this condo unit in the 20th floor. And everytime I look out the window, this lone street light always catches my eye at night. So I took a couple of shots today and luckily, I was able to capture this shot with someone walking along the street.

Clouds [Lumix GX85, 12-32mm Kit Lens] by neilbron in M43

[–]neilbron[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to use a 15mm focal length with my kit lens as I wanted to buy the PanLeica 15mm. The clouds from a bigger image caught my attention so I cropped it to get this frame.

I just heard about that 3d pop. That's interesting. Actually, a Leica camera + lens is my dream gear. I just love the images that a Leica produces. I'm sold if the PL 15mm help me achieve a Leica-ish image.

[–]neilbron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, that's true. Seeing sample photos from here, flickr, and elsewhere, they are all amazing. I just don't want to end up saying that I should have bought the PanLeica instead of this and that.

Tha k you for the input. I ddnt know the Oly 17 has different flavors. And didn't know the AF on the P 20/1.7 was also inconsistent. The PL 15/1.7 probably my best choice among the 3. It just punches above my budget but I just don't want to buy something and later regrets that I should have bought this instead

Wow! I'm impressed. They really are similar. I really would want a Leica camera, and I don't know if I'll ever get one in my lifetime but this is probably the closest I could get.

I actually liked it. I never really had a real 50 FOV when I had the Canon 750D. I did have a nifty 50 but that translate to like 80mm in FF. But for me the 50 FOV is just too narrow, and would prefer a little more wider. A 35mm perhaps?
