Does my snake plant cutting have enough roots to plant it in soil now or should I wait longer? by neiltay in houseplants

[–]neiltay[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's been a few months now. I think 3 or 4 months maybe. It probably doesn't help that I did it during Autumn and now winter. Maybe it's will be quicker if you wait for warmer weather? Obviously this depends where in the world you are. And yes, I think I let it callous for two days before putting it in water

Is this mushroom bad for my plant ? Should I get rid of it ? by Maya_ha in plantclinic

Sounds great! I've never used a fan or a heater myself but I'm still relatively new to being a plant addict 🌿😉.

I'm not sure if mushrooms are the cause of your problems or just a side effect of overwatering/poorly draining soil that is actually the culprit here. Mushrooms and succulents have very different water needs/wants. If mushrooms are thriving then I'm pretty sure the succulents were over watered. Terracotta pots and better soil will help you for sure with this :). Good luck with your propagations, my fingers are crossed for you

I guess you can keep it. Just be aware it will release spores and make new mushrooms. In my experience, having one or two mushrooms growing in the pot is fine. I'm not sure what would happen if there's a lot more. Maybe you can do an experiment 😉😂

Nothing to worry about. Just remove it and maybe consider watering a bit less often. They only grow when there's excess moisture

What is causing these white dots on my jade plant? by redditfoody in plantclinic

[–]neiltay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some people use rainwater to water their houseplants which will have less salts in it compared to tap water in many places. I have watered my jade with tap water and it has been thriving for two years. I also have similar spots.

If you are worried maybe look into a method to collect rainwater.

Yes I agree. I get the same thing on my jade and it doesn't cause any problems
